The positive impact of the district administration’s efforts to strengthen basic amenities in remote and forested areas of the district is now visible on the ground. The solar high-mast plant installed at the Special Backward Tribe Baiga Residential School in Naudhiya, Bharatpur block, is a prime example. Installed at a cost of ₹5.38 lakh from the District Mineral Foundation (DMF), this plant has provided permanent relief from nighttime darkness to the school campus.
- Lighting facilities in hard-to-reach areas
The Baiga Residential School for Special Backward Tribes is located in a remote and forested area, approximately 130 kilometers from the Naudhiya district headquarters. As a residential school, adequate lighting for students and teachers at night was crucial.
The district administration, through the efforts of the MCB, found a permanent solution to this problem. Through the implementing agency, CREDA, a solar high-mast plant was installed on the school campus. This solar-powered plant harvests energy from sunlight during the day and uses that energy to illuminate the campus at night.

The installation of the solar high mast has significantly improved the school campus’s nighttime lighting. Even during power outages, the solar high mast keeps the campus illuminated. The installation illuminates an area of approximately 50 meters around it. This has not only facilitated student movement at night, but also strengthened the sense of security within the school campus.
The school’s teachers and students have expressed their gratitude to the district administration, calling this facility useful. They say that previously, the campus would be plunged into darkness when the power went out, but now, thanks to the solar high mast, there is ample light available throughout the night.
