Mata Bhadrakali Temple Complex Illuminated by 11,101 Diyas: Prayers Offered for the Prime Minister’s Long and Healthy Life

Bemetara district glowed with the divine radiance of lamps today, marking the auspicious occasion of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi completing 25 years of public service. Prayers were offered for the Prime Minister’s long, healthy, and centenarian life by lighting 11,101 diyas (earthen lamps) at the Mata Bhadrakali Temple complex at the district headquarters.

The main district-level program, ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya,’ was inaugurated by the Minister for Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Protection, Shri Dayal Das Baghel, who lit the ceremonial lamp. On this occasion, prayers were offered at the temple for the Prime Minister’s successful and illustrious life. The atmosphere became imbued with devotion through the creation of a stunning rangoli made of thousands of lamps and the resounding chants of “Jai Shri Ram.”

In his address, Minister Shri Baghel stated that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has dedicated 25 years of his public life to the service of the nation. He has worked ceaselessly to realize the resolve of a ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India) by 2047. Under the Prime Minister’s leadership, numerous ambitious schemes—such as the Garib Kalyan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Jal Jeevan Mission (Nal-Jal Yojana), Ujjwala Yojana, and Ayushman Bharat—have ensured that benefits reach the last person in the country, while simultaneously enhancing India’s prestige on the global stage. Today, the entire nation is rapidly advancing towards becoming a developed country, a feat credited to the Prime Minister’s visionary outlook.

On this occasion, MLA Shri Dipesh Sahu extended his best wishes for a successful and illustrious life to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. He remarked that it is a matter of pride for the country that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is completing 25 years of service to the nation, driven by a steadfast resolve. He noted that events such as cleanliness drives, tree plantation campaigns, and blood donation camps have been organized across the district to mark the occasion.

A total of over 6,30,877 ‘Aashirwad Diyas’ (lamps of blessing) were lit in Bemetara district today.

Key Highlights:

  • 51,000 lamps were lit at various intersections and squares within the municipal area.
  • 73,000 lamps were lit across all urban local bodies, schools, and Anganwadi centers.
  • A total of 2.25 lakh lamps were lit, with 521 lamps illuminated in each Gram Panchayat.
  • Lamps were lit in 100% of the households across 27 identified villages.
  • Lamps were also lit at ‘Amrit Sarovars’ (rejuvenated water bodies), anicuts on the Hof and Shivnath rivers, ration shops, government offices, PM Awas (housing scheme) homes, and the residences of ‘Lakhpati Didis’.

Grand lamp-lighting ceremonies took place at key locations: 11,000 lamps at Jong in Bemetara block, and 21,000 lamps each at Sandi Temple (Berla), Biranpur Shakti Temple (Saja), and Mawali Temple (Nawagarh).

Special attractions included a theme-based drone shot in Matra village (featuring ‘Lakhpati Didi’) and drone videography in Andhiyarkhor-Jevra based on the theme ‘Hof Nadi Dhar Apaar’ (The Boundless Flow of the Hof River). The event was attended by the Chairman of the Rajakkar Vikas Board, Mr. Prahlad Rajak; Municipal Council President, Mr. Vijay Sinha; Collector, Ms. Pratishtha Mamgai; District Panchayat CEO, Ms. Premlata Padmakar; senior public representative, Mr. Ajay Sahu; other public representatives; officials and employees; and a large number of citizens.
