Pradhan Mantri Swanidhi Yojana is proving to be helpful for street vendors and small businessmen to become self-reliant. So far this year, 11,036 beneficiaries have been provided loans under the scheme in Bilaspur district. This has not only given a new identity to their businesses but also given them a new identity. Bilaspur resident Shri Laxmi Prasad Gupta told that he runs a paan cart. He first took a loan of Rs 10,000 and invested it in the business. After repaying the loan on time, he got a loan of Rs 20,000 and then Rs 50,000. With this amount, he started his business. He has expanded his business and has been successful in increasing his income. Expressing his gratitude to the Prime Minister and Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, Shri Gupta said that this scheme is proving to be very helpful for small businessmen like him.
Similarly, Mr. Asad Akhtar Khan, a resident of Masanganj, who runs a fast food stall, said that the loan amount received from the scheme gave his business new heights. He said that this scheme helped him increase his income and strengthen his business. He also thanked the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister.
This scheme is proving to be helpful in making retail traders, hawkers and people doing business on handcarts self-reliant. Under the scheme, a loan of Rs 10,000 is provided in the first phase. In the second phase, on repaying the first loan on time, a loan of Rs 10,000 is given. A loan of Rs 20,000 is given. In the third phase, a loan of Rs 50,000 is provided after repaying the second loan.
The objective of the scheme is to help people of weaker income group in business and ensure increase in their income. So far, out of the target of 8,123 for the first loan under this scheme in Bilaspur district, 7,944 applications were approved and loans were given to 7,591 beneficiaries. . Under the second loan, out of the target of 3,673, 2,398 applications were approved and the amount was provided to 2,207 beneficiaries. For the third loan, 975 applications were received against the target of 330, out of which 694 were approved and 559 beneficiaries got the loan.
