Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that providing uninterrupted, affordable electricity to farmers is a priority for our government. The government is ready to provide all necessary support to farmers for this purpose. If farmers receive affordable electricity, they will be able to increase their production and contribute to the state’s progress. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stated that farmers should be empowered to become energy producers to meet their energy needs. To achieve this, farmers should be connected to green energy production. Only by becoming self-reliant in energy production can we improve farmers’ living standards. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stated that farmers in the state should be encouraged in every way to use solar pumps. The department should also provide all possible support and guidance to farmers who wish to participate. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was reviewing the current progress of ongoing schemes of the Department of New and Renewable Energy at the Secretariat on Wednesday.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav urged departmental officials to move forward with dedication and focus, achieving the goal of providing affordable electricity to all farmers and citizens in the state’s interest. Along with connecting farmers with solar pumps, accelerate the progress of the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Yojana. He urged them to move forward with the goal of connecting more than 200,000 farmers with solar pumps by the end of this financial year. Departments should review the annual targets of their schemes and increase them according to new needs, so that maximum people can benefit in a short period of time. To achieve this, departments should bring their schemes into a timeframe and ensure the implementation of the targets within the stipulated timeframe. This will lead to faster and better results.
A one-day orientation program will be held in Bhopal with the body officials.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that all urban bodies in the state can generate substantial income by selling waste and accelerating progress on the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Yojana (Rooftop Scheme). A one-day orientation program should be held in Bhopal to train officials and officers of urban bodies on this subject. This program should be held soon so that the bodies have maximum time to work.
Pay special attention to the energy interests of the state
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, in collaboration with the Uttar Pradesh government, took stock of the progress of the establishment of a 2,000 megawatt (2 gigawatt) Ultra Mega Renewable Energy Power Park in Morena and said that special attention should be paid to the energy interests of the state in this mega project. Additional Chief Secretary, New and Renewable Energy, Mr. Manu Srivastava, informed that the Uttar Pradesh government has expressed its intention to supply green energy only during peak periods. In this regard, proper coordination is being done with the senior most departmental officers of the Uttar Pradesh government.
Additional Chief Secretary Shri Srivastava stated that the targets set for new and renewable energy production in the state are being further refined. He stated that 27,100 solar pumps have been installed so far under the Surya Mitra Krishi Feeder Scheme (Kusum B). The goal is to solarize 400,000 pumps in the next two years. The department has selected 36 units for implementation. In the first phase of this scheme, the department has received 100,000 applications. Additional Chief Secretary Shri Srivastava stated that under the Surya Mitra Krishi Feeder Scheme (Kusum C), the department has set a significant goal of connecting approximately 1 million farmers to solar power, providing daytime electricity to farmers through 493 substations. So far, 250,000 pumps have been installed. The department’s goal is to make farmers self-reliant in energy production and economically empower them. The department has also prepared a monthly plan for solar power generation. The department has focused special attention on the roof top scheme.
New and Renewable Energy Minister Shri Rakesh Shukla, Chief Secretary Shri Anurag Jain, Additional Chief Secretary (Energy and Chief Minister’s Office) Shri Neeraj Mandloi, Finance Secretary Shri Lokesh Jatav, Managing Director of Madhya Pradesh Energy Development Corporation Shri Amanveer Singh Bais and other officials were present in the meeting.
