Nari Shakti Vandan Act is a milestone towards women empowerment: Ms. Nirmala Bhuria

Women and Child Development Minister Nirmala Bhuria has described the Nari Shakti Vandan Act introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi as an unprecedented and historic positive step towards women’s empowerment, calling it a milestone. Bhuria was addressing the women present as the chief guest at the district-level Nari Shakti Vandan conference in Ujjain on Thursday.

Highlighting the success of the Nari Shakti Vandan awareness campaign being run across the state under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Mohan Yadav, Minister Ms. Bhuria described this event as a symbol of the upliftment of women power. Highlighting the specifics of the Act, she said that this law, which ensures women’s representation in Parliament, will not only strengthen the leadership of women power, but will also effectively increase their participation in the legislative and parliamentary spheres. While making women aware of their constitutional rights, she said that now the role of women power is going to be even more decisive in the country’s policy making.

Municipal Corporation Chairperson Mrs. Kalavati Yadav, who presided over the event, praised the Prime Minister’s commitment. Describing it as a “revolutionary” change, Mrs. Yadav said that the government’s sensitivity toward women is visible on the ground today. She called on the women present to launch a widespread public awareness campaign about this Act and the government’s welfare schemes, so that their benefits can reach even the most marginalized women in society.

During this event, Minister Ms. Nirmala Bhuria and Chairperson Mrs. Kalavati Yadav honored and encouraged meritorious students who achieved outstanding academic achievements. The conference concluded with a grand and massive women’s awareness rally.

Minister Ms. Bhuria and Chairperson Mrs. Yadav not only flagged off the rally, but also marched along the entire route on foot with hundreds of women. A large number of public representatives, social workers, and women participants from various fields attended the event.
