 Mountaineer Ms. Ankita Gupta paid a courtesy call on Governor Mr. Deka

Mountaineer Ms. Ankita Gupta paid a courtesy call on Governor Mr. Ramen Deka at Lok Bhavan today. During this, she informed the Governor about her mountaineering achievements and upcoming expeditions.

Ms. Ankita Gupta is currently serving as a constable at the Kabirdham (Kawardha) Police Lines. In 2022, she became the first female mountaineer from Chhattisgarh to successfully reach the summit of Mount Kangri in Ladakh. Furthermore, she brought honor to the state by hoisting the tricolor atop Mount Elbrus, the highest peak in the European continent.

During the meeting, Ms. Ankita informed the Governor that her next plan is to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in the African continent. She also briefed the Governor on her mountaineering expeditions, experiences, and future plans.
Governor Ramen Deka praised Ankita Gupta’s courage, determination, and achievements, saying that such successes by young talents are an inspiration to society. He wished Ankita well for her upcoming expedition and pledged his support.
