Education Minister Gajendra Yadav reviewed the education system of Bastar division.

  •  Instructions given for improving the quality of education and effective implementation of schemes

Education Minister Shri Gajendra Yadav held a division-level review meeting of the Education Department in the Prerna Hall of the Bastar Collectorate on Wednesday and conducted a detailed review of the progress of departmental schemes and educational activities. Instructing officials for better and effective implementation of the schemes, he said that education plays an important role in the overall development of Bastar. He laid special emphasis on reviving schools in the interior areas, ensuring 100% attendance of students and teachers, improving the quality of education and developing a better educational environment in schools.

To lay a strong foundation of Mathematics, Hindi and English at the primary level, he directed to conduct studies as per calendar-wise, school-wise and subject-wise timetable and to conduct regular revision tests.

Education Department Secretary Dr. Kamalpreet Singh, Director Mr. Rituraj Raghuvanshi, Collector Mr. Akash Chhikara, District Panchayat CEO Mr. Prateek Jain, Divisional Joint Director Mr. H.R. Som, District Education Officers of all districts, DMCs, BEOs and other officials were present in the meeting. During the review, information was taken about the attendance of office officials and employees through the Aadhaar Base app and online attendance of teachers in the VSK app. Instructions were given to take action as per rules against officials and employees who do not register their attendance online and to provide the list of schools without network through the Collector. The Education Minister also reviewed the compliance of instructions regarding sending back the officials and employees of the Education Department posted in other departments to their original postings.

Mr. Yadav reviewed the status of settlement-wise primary schools, the need for new schools, the action plan for reopening closed schools, and the results of board and annual examinations, and directed that inter-district students be admitted to Pota cabins. He instructed the district and block education officers to conduct subject-wise unit tests and quarterly examinations based on previous years’ question papers for better results in the annual examination, and to hold meetings with principals of weak schools to ensure necessary corrective action.

The meeting also reviewed student enrollment, attendance, dropout rates, teacher availability, vacant and rationalized positions, the action plan for Swami Vivekananda Schools of Excellence, and the progress of the gap analysis. Necessary guidelines were issued after receiving information on scholarships, uniforms, textbook distribution, the Saraswati Cycle Scheme, midday and invitation meals, construction work, and the implementation of various government schemes.

 Education Minister Mr. Yadav directed to develop Swami Vivekanand Utkrisht Vidyalayas on the lines of PM Shri Schools, demolish dilapidated school buildings as per rules, utilize the available budget for necessary repairs and minor works of the schools and ensure 100% distribution of textbooks. He also stressed on maintaining systematic records of undistributed books at cluster and school level. In the meeting, the officials informed the Minister in detail about the progress of educational activities and schemes being run in the division.

Before the meeting, Education Minister Gajendra Yadav distributed free bicycles and gifts to eligible girl students under the Saraswati Cycle Scheme in the Collectorate premises and motivated them to move ahead with hard work, dedication and regular studies.
