Big relief for farmers: Now, urea will be available in Kharif season at the same rate as last year.

  • 80% limit on urea distribution ends, instructions to provide adequate fertilizer on time

To ensure farmers receive adequate fertilizers during the Kharif season, the Chhattisgarh government has made significant changes to the urea distribution system. Farmers will now receive urea in Kharif 2026, equal to the amount they received in Kharif 2025. The previously imposed 80 percent distribution limit has been removed, ensuring farmers have adequate fertilizer available for farming.
Jashpur Collector Mr. Rohit Vyas inspected the Adivasi Jati Seva Cooperative Society in Duldula and reviewed the availability of fertilizers and seeds, agricultural loan distribution, and other facilities provided to farmers. He informed farmers about the new system, stating that if, due to a shortage of urea stock at the society, farmers are unable to obtain the full amount of fertilizer they are entitled to, the remaining quantity will be made available to them as soon as the stock becomes available. This will ensure farmers will not face any fertilizer shortages.

During the inspection, the Collector inquired about the fertilizer and seed storage available at the cooperative society, agricultural loans distributed through Kisan Credit Cards, and the services being provided to farmers. He instructed officials to ensure that fertilizer, seeds, and agricultural loans are made available to farmers on time during the Kharif season and that there should be no unnecessary delays at any level.

Collector Shri Vyas directly interacted with the farmers who had come to the committee and took information about farming preparations, availability of fertilizers and agriculture related problems and instructed the officials to ensure their quick solution.

He urged farmers to promote the use of Nano Urea and Nano DAP, saying that these fertilizers provide balanced nutrition to crops, reduce costs, and preserve soil fertility. He said that by adopting modern and scientific agricultural techniques, farmers can increase both production and income.

The Collector directed all cooperative societies to regularly monitor the availability of fertilizers and seeds and to ensure that farmers face no difficulties in accessing fertilizers, seeds, and agricultural loans. The district administration is continuously striving to ensure farmers receive all necessary agricultural resources in a timely manner.
