Their every step, their every struggle, is a symbol of their indomitable courage and strength. They stand at the border, risking their lives, so that we can live our lives happily.
On the auspicious occasion of Rakshabandhan, Anganwadi workers and assistants in Sukma district sent a unique message of love and respect to the soldiers deployed on the country’s borders. As part of the “Raksha Sutra” campaign launched by the Women and Child Development Department, Anganwadi workers across the district hand-crafted 2,055 Rakhis (Raksha Sutras). Along with these Rakhis, sacred soil from Sukma district was also sent for the soldiers to apply tilak (a tilak).
- A beautiful combination of women power and patriotism.
The campaign was launched in the presence of Collector Mr. Amit Kumar and District Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Mr. Mukund Thakur. Officials praised the emotional efforts of Anganwadi workers and assistants, saying the initiative is an inspiring example of women’s empowerment, patriotism, and social participation. They added that each Raksha Sutra prepared in each village symbolizes respect and gratitude for the soldiers deployed day and night to protect the country.
- Anganwadi workers prepared Rakhi with their own hands
A special enthusiasm was seen in all the Anganwadis of the district for preparing Rakhi. Anganwadi workers and assistants said that the soldiers engaged in protecting the country are their brothers. Therefore, they made Rakhi with their own hands and sent their best wishes and affection to them. All the Rakhis were duly packaged and sent to the soldiers, so that the love and blessings of the sisters of Sukma could reach the country’s border on the occasion of Rakshabandhan.
- An initiative to connect Rakshabandhan with national service
This initiative of the Women and Child Development Department, under the guidance of the district administration, does not limit Rakshabandhan to a mere traditional festival, but rather connects it with national service and respect for soldiers. The 2055 Rakhis and sacred soil sent by Anganwadi Didis of Sukma convey the message that every soldier standing on the borders of the country is always accompanied by the blessings, respect, and affection of the sisters of the country. This campaign is a commendable effort towards strengthening the spirit of national unity, brotherhood, and patriotism in the society.
