District Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Ms. Anupama Anand visited the village of Jhalap in the Mahasamund development block to inspect the progress of the PM Surya Ghar Yojana. She also observed livelihood activities and self-manufactured products run by women self-help groups under the National Rural Livelihood Mission (Bihan).
The CEO visited the home of Solar Didi Kajal Sahu, a vendor with the Vatsalya Mahila Cluster Organization, Jhalap, to learn about the work being done under the PM Surya Ghar Yojana. After receiving training, Kajal Sahu installed a 2-kilowatt solar panel at her residence. CEO Ms. Anupama Anand praised her work and encouraged her to connect more people to solar energy and expand the solar panel installation program.
During the visit, the CEO also inspected the shops run by Jai Bhavani Self Help Group of Bihan. She observed various self-made products including bamboo handicraft items, pickles, badi, papad, spices being prepared by the women of the group. She interacted with the women and gave guidance regarding maintaining the quality of the products, providing better markets and expanding livelihood activities further. Ms. Anand, while encouraging the women of Bihan group, said that they should promote their products as much as possible and increase their sources of income by connecting with new markets. On this occasion, APO Triveni, DPM Shivde Singh, office bearers of the cluster organization and other departmental officers from the district were present.
