Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav reached the Divisional Commissioner’s office in Indore today to conduct a comprehensive review of the situation of water crisis in the city and directed the officials to ensure immediate and effective solution. The Chief Minister directed that water supply should be reviewed daily in the morning and evening through the 24×7 water control room. Special water supply schemes should be implemented in distressed wards and relief should be provided to the affected areas on priority basis.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav directed that the disparities and anomalies in the timing of tap water supply should be removed immediately. Also balanced water distribution should be ensured in all areas. He directed to take special care of water availability in government colleges, hostels and other residential institutions. He also called for strict action by running a special campaign against those who steal water and those who draw water illegally through motors.

  • Ensure full capacity utilization of water tanks

The Chief Minister directed that the city’s big water tanks should be utilized to their full capacity. Minute-to-minute monitoring of private and municipal tankers should be done. Water wastage should be prevented by immediate rectification of pipeline leakages and distribution losses. He said that senior Additional Chief Secretary level officials from Bhopal have visited Indore in the past and will be sent again if required. The Chief Minister also directed to maintain regular communication and coordination with the people’s representatives and civic bodies and to continuously provide information and reports related to the water crisis situation to the Chief Minister’s office.

Water Resources Minister Shri Tulsiram Silawat, MP Shri Shankar Lalwani, MLA Shri Golu Shukla, MLA Mrs. Malini Gaur, MLA Shri Madhu Verma, Mayor Shri Pushyamitra Bhargava along with public representatives and senior administrative officers were present in the meeting.
