The Sakti district administration has taken a unique initiative to give new wings to the dreams of children from small towns and villages. By taking 24 meritorious students on a tour of the airport, the administration not only introduced them to modern aviation technology but also instilled in them the confidence to dream big.

This special educational tour turned into a memorable experience for the children. When the students, who had till now seen the airport and fighter planes only in books, films or on TV screens, saw them in person, their curiosity and happiness was worth seeing. Actually, for the selection of students, a district level general knowledge and aptitude test based competitive examination was held on 13th May. 24 students who performed well in this were selected for the airport tour. On the morning of 16th May, all the students were sent to Swami Vivekanand Airport Mana, Raipur by bus from the District Education Officer’s office, Sakti.

Upon arrival at the airport, the students were given a detailed tour of the airport complex. During the tour, flying officers and technicians briefed the students on the workings of fighter planes and civilian aircraft. They explained the various parts, design, and flight systems of the aircraft in a simple manner.

The most exciting moment of the trip was when the students had the opportunity to sit in the cockpit of a fighter plane, one by one. Watching planes take off and land on the runway up close was an unforgettable experience for the students. A general knowledge quiz related to airports and aviation was also conducted during the program. Students who answered correctly were rewarded with prizes. This entire educational trip provided the children with practical knowledge of modern transportation systems, aviation technology, and aircraft operations. This initiative by the district administration was highly appreciated by both students and parents. The excitement on the faces of the children returning from the trip was evident. Many expressed their desire to become pilots, Air Force officers, and aerospace engineers in the future.
