  • Long-standing demand of farmers fulfilled, time and transportation cost will be saved

Thanks to the special efforts of Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Laxmi Rajwade, farmers in the Bhatgaon Assembly constituency have received a significant gift. Administrative approval has been granted to open new paddy procurement centers in the villages of Bundia and Badsara in the Bhaiyathan development block of Surajpur district. The Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department, Government of Chhattisgarh, has formally issued an order in this regard.

Farmers in the area have long demanded the opening of new paddy procurement centers. During a visit to the Bhatgaon Assembly constituency, villagers and farmers apprised Minister Lakshmi Rajwade of their concerns. They explained that currently, transporting paddy to distant procurement centers requires additional time and transportation costs.

Taking the farmers’ problems seriously, Minister Smt. Laxmi Rajwade wrote to Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Minister Shri Dayal Das Baghel, requesting approval for new paddy procurement centers in Bundia and Barsara. As a result of the Minister’s efforts, the government has approved the establishment of both centers for the Kharif marketing year 2026-27 and subsequent years.

New paddy procurement centres will be established in village Bundiya under Primitive Tribe Service Cooperative Society Limited Batra and in village Badsara under Primitive Tribe Service Cooperative Society Limited Shivprasadnagar.

  • Farmers will get big relief

With the opening of new paddy procurement centers, farmers will no longer need to travel to distant centers to sell their produce. This will reduce transportation, tractor rental, and other expenses, saving farmers time and labor. The availability of local paddy weighing and procurement facilities will also make the procurement process more accessible and convenient.

The approval of new paddy procurement centers has brought joy to the farmers and villagers of the area. Expressing gratitude to Minister Smt. Lakshmi Rajwade, the farmers said that having a nearby paddy procurement center will provide them with significant relief in selling their produce. They described this decision as an important initiative in the interest of the region’s food producers.
