Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that new techniques of farming are the new door to the prosperity of farmers. The more farmers are connected with new technologies , modern farming practices and government schemes , the more their income will increase and the more profitable farming will be. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the production of horticultural crops is increasing in Madhya Pradesh. Madhya Pradesh has received the country’s first award for excellence in development and extension of horticultural crops. This is the result of our government’s commitment to improving farmers’ lives. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing the Balram Krishi Mahotsav organized in Baitul on Monday through video conferencing from the Chief Minister’s residence.
Chief Minister Dr. Appreciating the natural wealth , fertile land and hardworking farmers of Betul district, Yadav said that the land blessed by seven rivers including Suryaputri Maa Tapti , there is no match for fertility and agricultural production. He said that this is the farmers’ program. Our government is committed for the welfare and empowerment of farmers. We are writing scale for development in agriculture sector. We do what we say .
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Baitul has made its own distinct identity in the field of maize production not only in the region but also in the country . The farmers of the district are strengthening the food security of the region by producing excellent crops like wheat , paddy , maize and rice. He said that if Madhya Pradesh is emerging as the “food basket” of the country today, the fertile soil of Betul and the hard work of the farmers have a very important contribution to it. He said that the state government is organizing Balaram Krishi Mahotsav from July 15 to November 13 with an aim to reduce the worries of farmers and increase their prosperity. Meanwhile, the entire administration is reaching out to the farmers and providing them information on modern agricultural techniques , new schemes and scientific farming. The Chief Minister called upon the farmers to take maximum advantage of this festival , interact with experts , learn new technologies and increase their income by adopting them.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav informed about the decisions taken by the government in the interest of the farmers of the region and said that in view of the demand of the moong farmers, the limit of eligible farmers for acquisition has been increased from 25 percent to 60 percent. We will buy 60 percent moong from farmers. The last date of slot booking has been extended to 10 August and the last date of moong uparjan has been extended to 20 August 2026. Giving priority to the convenience of farmers, we have also suspended the e-token system applicable in fertilizer distribution with immediate effect. He said that this year a record collection of wheat has been made by giving bonus along with the support price. An additional assistance of Rs 4 thousand per hectare is being given to paddy producing farmers. A bonus payment of Rs 1,000 per quintal has also been ensured to the farmers for the first time in the state for record procurement of Kodo-Kutki.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that water conservation and expansion of irrigation facilities are among the top priorities of the government for the long-term development of Betul. He informed that an MoU has been signed with the Government of Maharashtra for the ‘ Tapi Basin Mega Recharge Project ‘ , which will provide new strength to irrigation capacity and ground water conservation in the entire region including Baitul , Burhanpur and Khandwa.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that our government is working to strengthen the entire agricultural value chain from farm to market. Food processing , warehousing , cold chain , grading , packaging , value addition and agricultural exports are being encouraged. He assured the farmers that the government is standing with them at every step and its only resolution is that the farmers get the full value of their hard work and that farming becomes a profitable business in real terms.
