Dr. Ramchandra Godbole and Mrs. Sunita Godbole, who have been selflessly providing healthcare services for decades in the remote and forested areas of Chhattisgarh’s Bastar division, were given a grand welcome upon being awarded the Padma Shri. State Finance Minister Mr. OP Choudhary warmly welcomed the Godbole couple at his residence in Raipur today and extended his heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to them on this prestigious national achievement.

During this august meeting, Finance Minister Shri Chaudhary praised the Godbole couple’s service, saying, “Dr. Ramchandra Godbole and Mrs. Sunita Godbole have dedicated their lives to improving the health of tribal communities, eliminating malnutrition, and ensuring a brighter future for children in the remote and Naxal-affected areas of Bastar. Their dedication and spirit of service is a great inspiration for today’s society.”

The Finance Minister further stated that in the remote areas of Bastar, where access to basic healthcare was extremely difficult and challenging years ago, this couple set a unique example of hope, healing, and pure humanity. He stated that the Padma Shri award bestowed by the Government of India is a true national recognition of the Godbole couple’s decades-long struggle, sacrifice, and selfless public service.
