The Chaupal programs organized under the Good Governance Festival are no longer merely administrative initiatives, but are emerging as an effective platform for positive changes taking place in rural life. The Chaupal held in Sarodhi village of Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai district directly demonstrated the impact of government schemes on public life.
During the interaction with villagers at this Chaupal, held in the presence of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, an extraordinary story of a farmer family emerged. Benefits from government schemes have brought a positive change in the life of Mrs. Kekati Maravi, a resident of village Sarodhi.
Financial challenges were common for Kekati Bai, who lives with limited resources and three children. For this family dependent on farming, even daily needs often became a burden. In such a situation, the Mahatari Vandan Yojana proved to be a support for her, bringing stability to household expenses and reducing dependence on others for even small needs.
Kekati Bai’s contributions aren’t limited to her family. She has also worked as a “Swachhata Didi” for the past two years, providing her with a regular additional income. Furthermore, receiving a free gas cylinder under the Ujjwala Yojana has transformed her kitchen, freeing her from smoke.
As president of the Jai Maa Banjari Women’s Self-Help Group, she inspires other women toward self-employment and self-reliance. The grant received by the group has not only strengthened her financial situation but also opened new opportunities for other women in the village. Speaking at the community meeting, Kekati Bai explained that her family’s situation is much better than before. Expressing gratitude to the state government, she said that the schemes have given her life a new direction.
