Free e-cycles distributed to Divyangjan under ‘Saksham Bharat-Samarth Bharat’

The Social Justice and Disabled Welfare Department, in collaboration with Sanvedana Vikas Evam Anusandhan Mandal (Saksham) and Altius Infra, organised a free e-cycle distribution programme for the differently-abled under the “Livelihood on Wheels” programme. The objective of the programme is to make the differently-abled self-reliant, connect them with employment and livelihood and make their lives more comfortable and respectable. Under this initiative, run by Saksham organisation in collaboration with Altius Infra, 139 e-cycles are being distributed to orthopedically challenged persons of the three states of Madhya Pradesh – Madhya Bharat, Malwa and Mahakaushal.

Urban Development and Housing Minister Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya said that people with disabilities are embodiments of extraordinary potential and self-confidence. It is the responsibility of society and the government to provide them with equal opportunities for advancement. He said that the “Saksham Bharat-Samarth Bharat” campaign is an important initiative towards providing respect and self-reliance to the disabled.

Minister Shri Narayan Singh Kushwaha said that all departments and people from society are working together with the resolve to uplift the nation and make India a world leader again. He said that various institutions and social organizations are continuously working towards realizing Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s resolve of a developed and capable India by the year 2047. He appreciated the efforts of the “Saksham” organization and congratulated the organization. Minister Shri Kushwaha distributed gifts to disabled beneficiaries.

The e-cycles were flagged off. During this, special enthusiasm was seen among the beneficiaries. Minister Shri Kushwaha said that providing capability and self-reliance to a disabled person is more than the virtue one gets by meditating and worshipping God. He said that the state government is continuously working with sensitivity for the welfare, rehabilitation and self-reliance of the disabled. Initiatives like distribution of e-cycles will make the movement of the disabled easier and will connect them with employment and self-respect.

Departmental officers, social workers and representatives of various organizations actively participated in the program.
