Started a chicken store with RF-CIF and a bank loan
Raipur, 29 August 2026/ For women in villages, self-reliance is not merely a dream, but an achievement that can be attained with the right opportunity, guidance and hard work. Mrs. Kamlesh Yadav of Manjhagawa Gram Panchayat in Marwahi development block has proved this through her hard work and dedication. Once dreaming of taking a small business forward, Kamlesh is today building a new identity as a ‘Lakhpati Didi’ on the strength of her hard work, skills and the support received through government schemes.
Kamlesh Yadav joined the Vandana Women’s Self-Help Group and, while taking on the responsibility of group president, began making active efforts to advance economic activities. After joining the self-help group, she received financial support through RF (Revolving Fund), CIF (Community Investment Fund) and a bank loan. Making better use of the available resources, Kamlesh started a chicken store business in her village. Along with running the business, she also continued her tailoring work to increase her income.
Family’s economic condition strengthened through two sources of income
Instead of depending on a single source of income, Kamlesh made better use of her skills and the opportunities available to her. Income from tailoring, along with the chicken store business, played an important role in strengthening the family’s economic condition. Due to continuous hard work, dedication to the business and diversified sources of income, her annual income exceeded one lakh rupees.
This achievement is not merely an economic success for Kamlesh, but also a new beginning of confidence and self-reliance for her. Today, while contributing to her family’s financial needs, she is also becoming an inspiration for other women in the village.
Joining the group became an important turning point for change
Kamlesh Yadav says that joining the women’s self-help group was an important turning point in her life. Through the group, she received financial support and an opportunity to move forward. She used the available financial resources to establish her business and made efforts to turn her skills into a source of income.
She says that the self-help group not only provided her with financial support, but also gave her an opportunity to move forward with confidence. Today, because of the income she has earned through her hard work, she feels more self-reliant and is enthusiastic about taking her business further in the future.
Government support giving rural women new wings
In rural areas, women’s self-help groups are playing an important role in organizing women, connecting them with economic activities and making them self-reliant. By taking advantage of financial resources, bank loans and livelihood-related opportunities available through the groups, women are starting small businesses and increasing their incomes by expanding them.
The story of Kamlesh Yadav is an inspiring example of this change. By combining government support with her hard work and skills, she has taken steps towards turning a small business into a sustainable source of income. Her success conveys the message that when given opportunities, rural women can not only transform their families’ economic condition through their hard work and talent, but also create a new identity of self-reliance.
Becoming a ‘Lakhpati Didi’, she became an inspiration for other women
Once dreaming of taking her small business forward, Kamlesh Yadav is today establishing her identity as a successful rural woman entrepreneur. Her annual income exceeding one lakh rupees is the result of her continuous efforts. After becoming a ‘Lakhpati Didi’, her confidence has increased, and she is also encouraging other women in the village to join self-help groups and start economic activities.
Expressing gratitude to the Chief Minister of the state, Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, for her success, Kamlesh Yadav said that the support being provided to make women self-reliant is creating new hope and a path towards a better future for many families like hers.
The success story of Kamlesh Yadav shows that when a woman’s hard work receives the support of a group, the government’s assistance and an opportunity to advance her skills, she can not only transform her family’s economic condition, but also become an inspiration for society as a whole.
