- Sisters who abandoned violence and returned to the mainstream tied rakhi on the wrists of DRG personnel, delivering a message of peace and trust

A new breeze of change and peace has begun to blow in the Abujhmad region of Bastar. Women Maoists who once walked the path of guns and violence, but have now surrendered and joined the mainstream of society, tied sacred threads of protection on the wrists of soldiers and police officers at the DRG premises of Narayanpur Police on the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan, giving this sacred relationship a new dimension of human sensitivity.

This emotional moment was not limited to celebrating Raksha Bandhan, but conveyed a profound message of a changing Bastar and the unbreakable trust developing between the security forces and the local society. During the programme held at the DRG premises, the surrendered sisters tied rakhis to Superintendent of Police Sandeep Kumar Patel, Additional Superintendents of Police Akshay Sabadra, Ajay Kumar, Aishwarya Chandrakar and other senior officers, experiencing their affection, respect and commitment to their security.
Those who once lived their lives amid an atmosphere of fear and conflict were seen today sharing a warm and familial atmosphere with the police family. On this occasion, Superintendent of Police Sandeep Kumar Patel said that Raksha Bandhan is not merely a festival of love, but also a pledge of trust and security. Providing those who have returned to the mainstream with an opportunity to live a dignified life in society and strengthening their sense of security is a collective responsibility of both the police and society.
The warmth spread across the DRG premises became direct evidence that the bond of dialogue, trust and belonging is far more powerful than the path of guns and violence. The festival celebrated in Narayanpur further strengthens the hope that Abujhmad has now emerged from an era of fear and entered a new era of peace, brotherhood and development.
