- Time is being saved, pure drinking water is reaching every home
Jal Jeevan Mission has transformed the lives of villages like Bulga in Chhattisgarh by providing clean drinking water to every household. In Bulga village, every household now has a tap connection, freeing rural women from the labor of fetching water from long distances.
The “Jal Jeevan Mission,” launched to ensure the availability of pure drinking water in rural areas, is now becoming a new foundation for prosperity in the lives of villagers. Women who once traveled long distances to obtain water now have a stream of water flowing from taps in their courtyards. A glimpse of this transformation was witnessed in the village panchayat of Bulga, located in the Lundra development block of Surguja district.
- The journey of miles has ended, happiness has come to the courtyard
Bulga resident Mrs. Jivanti Bai said that there was a time when arranging clean drinking water was the most difficult task of the day. She had to travel far from home to get water, which wasted time and caused physical fatigue. “Earlier, we had to stand in long lines to fetch water, but now we have a tap connection in our house. Now we get clean water at home regularly, both morning and evening.
- Saving time is promoting agriculture
The tap connection has significantly saved Jivanti Bai’s family time. She explained that the time previously wasted fetching water is now being used for farming and other household chores. This has not only improved their lifestyle but also provided additional time for economic activities.
- Expressed gratitude for the government’s plan
Jivanti Bai expressed her joy at the availability of pipelined water in every household in the village. She expressed special gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai for this public welfare scheme, saying that this government initiative has made the lives of rural women more comfortable and respectable than ever before.
With the coordinated efforts of the District Administration and the Public Health Engineering Department, the goals of Jal Jeevan Mission are being rapidly achieved in the remote areas of Lundra, so that every rural family can get ‘pure water-clean drinking water’.
