- Directives Issued to Expedite Construction Works
A meeting of the Public Works Department Advisory Committee of the Raipur Municipal Corporation was held today at Mahatma Gandhi Sadan, the Municipal Corporation headquarters. The progress of various city development and construction projects was reviewed in the presence of Mayor Smt. Meenal Chaubey. During the meeting, Mayor Smt. Meenal Chaubey issued necessary directives to officials to accelerate construction activities.
The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the Municipal Corporation’s Public Works Department, Shri Deepak Jaiswal, along with advisory committee members: Zone 5 Chairman Shri Ambar Agrawal, Zone 9 Chairman Shri Gopesh Kumar Sahu, and Councilors Shri Rajesh Kumar Dewangan, Shri Ashu Chandravanshi, Shri Rajesh Gupta, and Shri Krishna Sonkar. Additionally, Zonal Commissioners from all zones, Chief Engineer Shri Sanjay Bagde, Superintending Engineer Shri Imran Khan, as well as Executive Engineers, Assistant Engineers, and Sub-Engineers were present.
Discussions covered several key topics, including the construction and repair of BT (Bituminous) roads, the tendering process for new projects, major schemes at the headquarters, the progress of large-scale construction works, and the resolution of waterlogging issues in various wards.
Mayor Smt. Meenal Chaubey directed officials to expedite construction and development projects, complete works within the stipulated timeframes, and ensure the quality of construction. Emphasis was also placed on resolving citizens’ grievances on a priority basis, finding permanent solutions to waterlogging problems, and ensuring regular reviews of development works. Discussions were also held regarding making specific provisions concerning groundwater.
