- Awareness camp of Women and Child Development Department, information about various government schemes and helpline services was given to the girls.
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai, an awareness camp was organized at the Government Higher Secondary School, Girwarganj, in the Surajpur Block of Surajpur district, as part of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign, which aims to promote the safety, education, and empowerment of girls across the state.
Organized by the Women and Child Development Department, the camp provided information to students about self-defense, cybersecurity, child rights, and various schemes related to women and child welfare.
Instructor Ms. Sarika taught students practical self-defense techniques, enabling them to protect themselves in emergencies and difficult situations. Mr. Rai Singh advised students to be vigilant against the growing threat of cybercrime, adopt safe digital behavior, and utilize the cyber helpline 1930.
Financial Literacy and Coordination Specialist Ms. Farzana highlighted the importance of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign and raised awareness on important topics related to domestic violence, female harassment, menstrual hygiene, and women’s safety. She also provided information about the women’s helpline 181 and the emergency service 112 to students and attendees.
Gender expert Ms. Poonam Rajwade provided detailed information about various government schemes for the benefit of women and girls, including the Noni Suraksha Yojana, Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, Mahatari Vandan Yojana, and Sakhi One Stop Center, encouraging eligible beneficiaries to avail of these benefits.
Brochures were also distributed to the students during the program. The camp was attended by the school principal, Mr. K.P. Kujur, lecturers S.N. Yadav, Pradeep Tripathi, Sushma Jaiswal, and Seema Rai, along with the school family and officials and employees of the Women and Child Development Department.
The awareness camp sought to increase self-confidence, safety awareness, and knowledge of government schemes among the students, so that they could become aware of their rights and become self-reliant and empowered.
