Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav expressed deep condolences over the cruise ship accident in Bargi, Jabalpur district, calling it unfortunate and extremely painful. He stated that the state government stands with every affected family during this difficult time. He stated that strict action has been taken against those responsible for negligence. Cruise pilot Mahesh Patel, helper Chhotelal Gond, and ticket counter in-charge Brijendra have been terminated with immediate effect. Hotel Maikal Resort and Boat Club Bargi manager Sunil Maravi have been suspended for negligence. Regional Manager Sanjay Malhotra has been attached to headquarters and a departmental inquiry has been initiated. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stated that those responsible for the accident will not be spared under any circumstances. The government is committed to providing all possible assistance to the affected families. He expressed with a sad heart that the families who have lost their loved ones cannot be compensated. The families of the victims should not feel alone during this difficult time. The government is providing financial assistance. The government, administration, and local public representatives are with them in this hour of grief. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said this while addressing the local media on Friday after inspecting the site of the incident in Bargi, Jabalpur and meeting the victim families.

The committee includes the Director General of Home Guards and Civil Defense, the Secretary of the Madhya Pradesh Government, and the Commissioner of Jabalpur Division. This committee will thoroughly investigate the accident on three points, including the cause of the accident, the rules of cruise operation, and other important information. Following the investigation, strict action will be taken against the culprits to prevent the recurrence of such tragic incidents in the future. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stated that to prevent such accidents, a SOP related to cruise operation will be prepared through the Tourism Department.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav announced a reward of Rs 51,000 each to workers engaged in relief and rescue operations as an incentive. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the state government will publicly honor all the brave men of the rescue team. Due to the courage and diligence of the rescue team, maximum number of people could be saved alive. He said that the rescue operation is not over yet. The cruise boat has been pulled to the shore. Some people are still missing, for whom a vigorous search is being carried out using all possible means. Everyone will be rescued soon. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav visited the residence of the families affected by the cruise accident and expressed his condolences.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stated that nine people died untimely in the tragic accident that occurred on Thursday at Jabalpur’s Bargi Dam. Rescue teams responded promptly and safely rescued 28 people. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stated that the entire state is shocked by the accident. Jal Jeevan Mission work was underway near the dam at the time of the cruise ship accident, allowing for immediate relief and rescue operations. Public Works Minister Mr. Rakesh Singh, Minister of State for Culture and Tourism (Independent Charge) Mr. Dharmendra Singh Lodhi, and Jabalpur MP Mr. Ashish Dubey immediately reached the scene upon receiving information. NDRF, SDRF, and district administration officials promptly began relief and rescue operations. Deputy Chief Minister and Jabalpur District Incharge Mr. Jagdish Devda is also closely monitoring the situation. Indian Army divers have also been involved in the rescue operation.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stated that the rescue team rescued victim Mr. Riaz, who had been stranded in the cruise ship for four to five hours. Riaz probably had no hope of surviving, but thanks to the tireless efforts of the rescue team, he is with us today. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stated that he met with the families of the victims, including Riaz, and the other victims and the deceased, and consoled them. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stated that the state government stands with all the families during this difficult time. Our sympathies are with everyone.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav informed that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has decided to provide financial assistance of Rs. 2 lakh each to the next of kin of those who lost their lives in the cruise accident and the state government has decided to provide Rs. 4 lakh each. Appealing to the citizens of the state, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that we all should seriously implement the information and warnings issued by the Meteorological Department from time to time. The warnings of the Meteorological Department alert us and save us from such accidents. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav praised the cooperation of all the rescue team personnel, local public representatives, local people and media friends who worked day and night in the cruise accident.
