- Formulate an action plan for the technical textiles sector in the state
Chief Secretary Shri Vikas Sheel has directed officials from the State Government’s Village Industries Department and other departments to formulate a comprehensive action plan to harness the potential of the technical textiles industry in the state. He emphasized the need to collaborate with academic and technical educational institutions to facilitate education, training, and skill development for the technical textiles industry.
During the meeting, officials from the Village Industries Department delivered a detailed presentation covering aspects such as education, training, skill development, market development, research, innovation, and growth under the National Technical Textiles Mission. Comprehensive discussions were held regarding agro-textiles, medical textiles, construction textiles, smart textiles, and textiles for sports, home, and apparel.
The meeting was attended by the Secretary of the Village Industries Department, Shri Rajesh Singh Rana, along with technical experts from the departments of Industries and Commerce, Technical Education, NIT, Skill Development, and Higher Education, as well as representatives from universities.
