‘When dreams found their address: Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana brought a new ray of happiness in the life of Shri Chandradev’

  • “Freed from the worries of a mud house, a permanent home has given us a new sense of security and respect.”

For Mr. Chandradev, who had lived in a mud house for years, the moment he received the keys to his new pucca house was nothing short of a dream. This house, provided through the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin), is not just a brick and cement structure, but has become the foundation of a safe, dignified, and better future for his family.
Coming from an economically disadvantaged family in Surajpur district, Mr. Chandradev supports his family through farming and labor. Due to his limited income, building a pucca house had been an unfulfilled dream for him for years. A leaking roof during the rainy season, the vagaries of weather, and insecurity posed challenges for his family. Despite this, the dream of owning a home one day remained alive in his heart. The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin) provided him with the opportunity to realize this dream. After applying through the Gram Panchayat, he was selected for the scheme, and the construction process began. Thanks to government assistance and timely guidance, his pucca house was ready within a few months.
When the day arrived to move into his new home, the joy of Mr. Chandradev and his family was palpable. The family members decorated their new home and called it one of the greatest achievements of their lives. Now they have no worries about rain or fear of the weather. The children have a better environment, and the entire family is assured of a secure life. An emotional Mr. Chandradev says, “A permanent home was a long-cherished dream of our family. The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana) has made it a reality. Now we have security, respect, and self-confidence.”
The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural) is similarly transforming the lives of thousands of needy families in the state. This scheme goes beyond providing housing; it is laying a new foundation for stability, security, and dignity in people’s lives. Mr. Chandradev’s story is proof that when sensitive government initiatives reach the last person, they not only build homes but also give new heights to hope.”
