Work being done on priority to improve sanitation, drinking water, roads, infrastructure and civic amenities – Shri Arun Saw

  • Deputy Chief Minister inaugurated and performed Bhoomi Pujan of development works worth Rs 7.19 crore.
  • On the demand of the Municipality, works worth Rs. 3.72 crore were approved and Rs. 2 crore was also announced for new works.

Deputy Chief Minister and Urban Administration and Development Minister Shri Arun Saw, on the third day of his four-day visit to Bastar, inaugurated and performed Bhoomi Pujan for development works worth Rs 7 crore 19 lakh in Kirandul. This included the inauguration of works worth Rs 4 crore 14 lakh 85 thousand and the Bhoomi Pujan of works worth Rs 3 crore 4 lakh 9 thousand. Shri Saw also unveiled the statue of Bastar’s Tiger Boy Chendru at Oxygen Zone. MLA Shri Chaitram Atami and Chairman of Chhattisgarh Oil Mill Board Shri Jitendra Sahu also attended the program.

Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Saw inaugurated the Oxygen Zone Park in Kirandul, developed at a cost of over Rs. 3.26 crore from the District Mineral Trust Fund (DMF). He handed over to the municipality a backhoe loader, a suction machine cum fair tanker, a tractor engine, and a water tanker purchased under the 15th Finance Commission. He said that these resources will further strengthen the city’s sanitation system and provide better basic amenities to the citizens. He praised the Oxygen Zone Park, saying that it will not only be a park but will also become an important center for the health, environmental protection, and recreation of the citizens.

Mr. Saw performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a drain in Kirandul, a crematorium, and concrete road construction in various wards under the infrastructure fund. He said that the completion of these works will significantly improve the city’s infrastructure, providing citizens with better transportation and a cleaner environment.

Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Saw announced at the event that he had approved ₹15.8 million for the construction of a concrete road and electrical system near the bus parking and stage stand. He also announced ₹2.7 million for the concrete road. He approved proposed development works worth ₹3.72 million at the request of the municipality, and also announced a separate ₹2 crore for new projects. 

The Deputy Chief Minister also assured positive action on the potential of a drinking water supply scheme from Malangir Falls to Kirandul and Bacheli. In collaboration with the regional MLA, public representatives, and senior officials, an action plan will be developed to develop a sustainable and effective drinking water system by examining the technical and practical aspects.

Addressing the inauguration and groundbreaking ceremony, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Saw said that development works worth more than 16.43 crore rupees have been approved and implemented in Kirandul Municipality in the last two years. The state government is working in accordance with the City Development Plan for the planned development of cities. Continuous efforts are being made to improve sanitation, drinking water, roads, infrastructure, and civic amenities.

He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, the resolve to build a developed Chhattisgarh is rapidly becoming a reality. To this end, he is regularly visiting various areas of the Bastar division and reviewing the work of various departments, including Public Works, Public Health Engineering, Urban Administration and Development, and Sports and Youth Welfare. He said that the development of roads, drinking water, and urban infrastructure in the Bastar region has been included among the government’s top priorities.

Praising the natural beauty of Kirandul, the Deputy Chief Minister said that Kirandul, nestled in the lap of the Bailadila mountain ranges, is one of the most naturally beautiful cities in the state. The surrounding greenery, mountain beauty, and clean environment give this city its unique identity. He said that the state government is working towards developing Kirandul into an ideal and modern city by maintaining a balance between development and environmental protection.

President of Kirandul Municipality Mrs. Ruby Shailendra Singh, President of Bacheli Municipality Mr. Raju Jaiswal, President of Dantewada Municipality Mrs. Payal Gupta, President of District Panchayat Mr. Nandlal Mudami, Mr. Shailendra Singh and Mr. Santosh Gupta along with councillors, public representatives and dignitaries were present in large numbers in the program.
