- Instructions given to give priority to natural heritage, tribal culture and environmental protection
During his visit to Jashpur today, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Chief of Forest Force, Mr. Arun Pandey, inspected important natural, religious, and environmental sites in the district. He assessed the possibilities for conservation and development of these sites and provided necessary guidance to officials.
- Inspection of Bhairav Pahad
Chief of Forest Force, Mr. Arun Pandey, visited Bhairav Pahad in Manora development block and inspected the site. He inquired about the area’s natural beauty, religious significance, and local tribal traditions and cultural beliefs. He instructed officials to develop Bhairav Pahad in accordance with local tribal traditions, natural features, and the faith associated with the Sogda Ashram. He stated that preserving natural beauty and local culture should be the top priority while maintaining environmental balance in development projects. The possibilities of developing this site as an integrated center for nature, faith, and tribal culture were also discussed.
- Emphasis was placed on making the Paryavaran Vatika a center for nature education.
Following this, Mr. Pandey inspected the Paryavaran Vatika constructed in the village of Bagiya in the Kansabel Forest Range. He observed activities related to tree plantation, green space development, and environmental conservation. He directed that the Paryavaran Vatika be developed as an effective center for environmental awareness and nature education for the local community, students, and the general public. He also placed special emphasis on the conservation, improved maintenance, and promotion of environmental awareness programs for local and useful plant species.
- Special Emphasis on the Conservation of Natural and Cultural Heritage:
Forest Force Chief Mr. Pandey stated that Jashpur district’s natural wealth, biodiversity, tribal culture, and religious beliefs are its unique identity. Therefore, environmental conservation and local traditions should be prioritized in the development of these heritage sites. He directed officials to develop sites like Bhairav Pahad, Hanuman Tekri, and Paryavaran Vatika using a nature-based, environmentally friendly, and public-participatory model. This will provide employment and tourism opportunities for local people and increase awareness about environmental conservation.
On this occasion, Chief Conservator of Forests of Surguja Circle, Mr. Dilraj Prabhakar, Divisional Forest Officer, Balrampur, Mr. Alok Vajpayee, Divisional Forest Officer, Jashpur, Mr. Shashi Kumar, Sub-Divisional Forest Officer of Jashpur Forest Division, Forest Range Officer and other officers and employees of the Forest Department were present.
