Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai offers prayers to Shri Phaleshwarnath Mahadev on the occasion of Sawan Monday and Nag Panchami

  • Prays for the well-being and prosperity of the state’s residents and the continuous progress of Chhattisgarh

On the auspicious occasion of Nag Panchami and during the holy month of Sawan, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, accompanied by his wife Smt. Kaushalya Sai and family members, visited the Shri Phaleshwarnath Mahadev Temple in his native village, Bagiya. There, he performed rituals to worship Lord Bholenath. After performing the Abhishek (ritual bathing) of Lord Shiva, the Chief Minister prayed for the happiness, peace, and prosperity of the people of the state, as well as for the continuous progress of Chhattisgarh.

A special three-day religious ritual—involving the creation and worship of 111,111 Parthiv Shivlings (Shivlings made of clay/earth)—is being organized from August 17 to 19 at the Shri Phaleshwarnath Mahadev Temple, situated on the picturesque banks of the Maini River. Chief Minister Shri Sai and Smt. Kaushalya Sai, along with other devotees, personally crafted Parthiv Shivlings and performed the worship and Abhishek according to Vedic rituals. The entire temple complex resonated with the chanting of Vedic mantras and the spirited cries of “Har-Har Mahadev.”

Extending his best wishes to the people of the state on the occasion of Nag Panchami and the holy month of Sawan, Chief Minister Shri Sai remarked that the month of Sawan offers a special opportunity to worship Lord Shiva. Lord Bholenath is a symbol of universal well-being and welfare. He prayed that Mahadev’s blessings remain upon every family in Chhattisgarh, that the fields and harvests of our farmers flourish, and that happiness, peace, and prosperity continue to grow across the state.

The Chief Minister stated that our culture embodies a remarkable harmony between reverence for nature and the Divine. Rivers, forests, mountains, and the living world are integral parts of our faith and way of life. Worshipping Lord Shiva during the holy month of Sawan conveys a message of sensitivity towards nature, public welfare, and service.

  • Shri Phaleshwarnath Mahadev Temple becomes a hub of faith and devotion

An atmosphere of enthusiasm and devotion prevails at the Shri Phaleshwarnath Mahadev Temple and the surrounding areas in light of this three-day religious ritual. A large number of devotees have gathered at the temple to worship Lord Bholenath by creating Parthiv Shivlings (Shivlings made of sacred clay/earth).

Various religious rituals—including the creation of Parthiv Shivlings, worship (Puja), ritual bathing (Abhishek), Aarti, the concluding offering (Purnahuti), and the distribution of Prasad—are being performed during the event. On the first day, August 17, the creation of Parthiv Shivlings was followed by worship, Abhishek, Aarti, and the distribution of Prasad. Similar rituals—creation of Parthiv Shivlings, worship, Abhishek, Aarti, and Prasad distribution—are taking place on August 18 as well. The three-day ritual will conclude on August 19 with the worship of the Parthiv Shivlings and a special concluding offering (Purnahuti).

  • 1,11,111 Parthiv Shivlings for the Welfare of All

A solemn vow has been taken to create and worship 1,11,111 Parthiv Shivlings during this special ritual. Devotees are collectively crafting these Shivlings to worship Lord Bholenath. Through this collective worship of Lord Shiva, prayers are being offered for the happiness, prosperity, peace, and general welfare of the state and the region.

This three-day religious event has immersed the entire area of ​​Bagiya and its surroundings in devotion to Lord Shiva. Situated on the banks of the Maini River, the Shri Phaleshwarnath Mahadev Temple has become a focal point of faith and spiritual consciousness, resonating with the chanting of Vedic mantras, the worship of Lord Shiva, and the spirited chants of the devotees.
