- A loan of Rs 2 lakh and training provided a new path, and on Rakshabandhan, he expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai by calling him ‘Bhaiya’.
She had never imagined taking over her husband’s brick business amidst her family responsibilities. After her husband’s death, Kusum Sharma of Loharsi village faced the challenge of supporting her family, as well as the challenge of livelihood. She lacked experience in her husband’s brick business and lacked sufficient capital to expand it. In these difficult times, the Women and Child Development Department’s “Saksham Yojana” (Saksham Yojana) emerged as a ray of hope.
When Kusum learned about the Saksham Yojana, she gathered information about it and decided to become self-reliant. After completing the necessary procedures, she applied for it. In July, she received a loan of two lakh rupees. After receiving the loan, she received the necessary training related to the business and gradually began managing the brick business left behind by her husband.
Kusum explains that the task was not easy at first. Familiarizing herself with the intricacies of the business and managing financial resources were new challenges. However, the training, financial support from the loan, and a strong determination to do something on her own boosted her confidence. Today, she continues to strive to grow her business. The income from her business has improved her family’s financial situation and given her a renewed sense of self-reliance.
For Kusum, the Saksham scheme has not only provided financial assistance but also provided an opportunity to stand on her own feet in difficult circumstances. She believes that if women receive timely guidance, training, and financial support, they can play a vital role in the development of not only their families but also society and the economy.
Wishing Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai on the occasion of Rakshabandhan, Kusum Sharma says that government-run schemes for women have brought new hope and confidence to single women like her. Expressing gratitude to her “brother,” Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai, she says that the financial assistance she received has given her the opportunity to reorient her life and livelihood.
Kusum’s story is an inspiring example that when courage is supported by government schemes, even adverse circumstances cannot hinder self-reliance.
