A new picture of a changing Bastar is emerging every day after the end of Naxalism. Today, a new scene was also witnessed in the remote forested area of Chhindnar in Dantewada. Along with the rest of the country, the people there also listened to the broadcast of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s popular monthly radio programme ‘Mann Ki Baat’. For the people of Chhindnar, this was the first time that the entire village had gathered to listen to the Prime Minister. The villagers were particularly enthusiastic about listening to the Prime Minister on the radio. They listened to the Prime Minister’s words with rapt attention.
There was a completely different atmosphere in Chhindnar today. People were highly enthusiastic about the Prime Minister’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’. Many people in the village listened to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for the first time today. Forest and Environment Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap, Bastar MP Shri Mahesh Kashyap and Dantewada MLA Shri Chaitram Atami also listened to the broadcast of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ along with the villagers. A new picture was visible today in the remote forested area of Bastar. The people of Chhindnar, who until a few months ago lived in fear amid the sound of blasts every day, were listening to the radio peacefully today.
After listening to ‘Mann Ki Baat’, the villagers said that this programme of the Prime Minister binds the country together. Through it, he presents before the entire country the positive works and innovations bringing change in different parts of the country. This also inspires others to undertake good work. This programme of the Prime Minister strengthens the spirit of public participation for the development of society and the country. This programme makes the entire country aware of the new thinking, new initiatives, unique efforts and innovations of citizens and gives them recognition. Through this programme of the Prime Minister, people get information about the culture, heritage and positive works of Chhattisgarh as well as the entire country.
The gathering of people in Chhindnar for ‘Mann Ki Baat’ is just a glimpse of the rapid changes taking place in Bastar. Along with taking welfare schemes to every citizen for the all-round development of Bastar, arrangements for roads, mobile connectivity, schools, hospitals and other basic needs are being strengthened. The government is actively and seriously working to reach the remote and inaccessible villages of Bastar and restore development works, basic needs and civic amenities that had remained stalled for decades due to Naxalism.
