Hard Work Meets Government Support: Sita Maravi Becomes the Village’s ‘Lakhpati Didi’

  • Life transformed after joining a self-help group; income boosted through grocery and poultry businesses

Smt. Sita Maravi from Gram Panchayat Gudumdevri in Marwahi Development Block has become a shining example of self-reliance and women’s empowerment. Once struggling to support her family on a limited income, Sita Maravi embraced self-employment after joining the Vandana Women’s Self-Help Group. Today, as a ‘Lakhpati Didi’ (a woman earning an annual income of over ₹1 lakh), she is strengthening her family’s financial position.

After joining the self-help group, Sita Maravi started a grocery shop in the village using ₹25,000 obtained through a bank loan, CIF (Community Investment Fund), and RF (Revolving Fund). Subsequently, she secured ₹50,000 from the group’s cluster and ventured into the poultry business.

By managing both businesses with hard work, dedication, and efficiency, her annual income has now reached approximately ₹2 to ₹2.5 lakh. This increased income has not only bolstered her family’s financial stability but also boosted her self-confidence and sense of independence.

Sita Maravi shares that joining the women’s self-help group proved to be a turning point in her life. The financial support and guidance provided by the group gave her the opportunity to start her own venture. Today, she stands on her own feet and serves as an inspiration to other women in the village.

Sita Maravi has also received the 31st installment of the Mahtari Vandan Yojana. Through the support of various government welfare schemes and her own hard work, she has scripted a new story of economic empowerment.

Smt. Sita Maravi has expressed her gratitude to Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai for this positive transformation in her life.
