- Instructions given for effective implementation of schemes, early completion of incomplete works and linking of beneficiaries with the schemes
A district level departmental review meeting was held today at 12 noon in the meeting hall of the Zila Panchayat under the chairmanship of Chhattisgarh Government’s Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection and Minister in charge of the district, Shri Dayal Das Baghel. While reviewing the progress of various government schemes and development works being run in the district, Minister in charge Shri Baghel directed the officials to ensure effective implementation of the schemes and to provide timely benefits to the eligible beneficiaries. In the meeting, all construction agencies were directed to complete the works approved for infrastructure development within the stipulated time limit. He directed PWD, RES and other construction agencies to ensure action against contractors for not completing the work within the stipulated time limit.
Minister-in-Charge Mr. Baghel stated that deadlines are set for road, bridge, and infrastructure development. If quality work is not completed within the stipulated timeframe, the concerned agencies should ensure action against contractors. He directed the preparation of action plans for PDS and livelihood ponds under the VB Ramji Yojana and approved as many eligible cases as possible. He placed special emphasis on organizing camps for women self-help groups under Bihan and connecting them with bank loans. He said that bankers should be present at such camps, and loan cases of eligible groups should be resolved and approved on the spot, so that women can easily access financial assistance for their livelihood activities. The Minister-in-Charge directed the Panchayats to ensure proper use of funds sanctioned for various development works and in accordance with the intended purpose. He said that if any case of misuse or embezzlement of government funds is discovered, recovery action should be taken against the concerned person as per the rules. While reviewing the incomplete construction and development works, he asked the officials the reason for not completing the work till now and gave instructions to complete the pending works on priority.
During the review of the Food Department, the Minister in charge directed that the e-KYC process for the remaining ration cards be completed expeditiously. He said that beneficiaries should not face any problems in obtaining rations and that timely storage and distribution of food grains should be ensured at fair price shops.
While reviewing the health department, the minister in charge directed that adequate stocks of essential medicines be maintained in view of seasonal diseases. He specifically asked to ensure adequate availability of anti-venom and rabies vaccines and medicines so that patients can receive immediate treatment in case of emergency. He directed to make effective efforts to eradicate TB and malaria in the district and to increase monitoring and awareness activities at the field level. Instructions were also given to take action as per rules against illegal sale and misuse of narcotic drugs in medical stores.
In the review of the Women and Child Development Department, Minister in-charge Mr. Baghel gave instructions to complete the incomplete Anganwadi buildings soon. He asked the officials to continuously inspect Anganwadi centres and regularly monitor whether the children and beneficiaries are getting the proper benefits of the government schemes or not. Along with this, the schemes and works of other departments including Revenue, Animal Husbandry, Agriculture, Education were also reviewed department wise. The Minister in-charge instructed the officials to work in mutual coordination and ensure that the benefits of the government schemes reach the last eligible beneficiaries.
District Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Ms. Anupama Anand, DFO Mr. Srinivas N.T. and district level officers from various departments were present in the meeting.
