- Special health camp organized for hearing-impaired and visually impaired children; 90 children undergo health check-ups
In a move to extend healthcare services to every segment of society, the ‘Dai-Didi Mobile Medical Unit (MMU-2)’—operating under the Chief Minister’s Slum Health Scheme—undertook a compassionate and commendable initiative by organizing a special health camp at the Government School for the Hearing and Visually Impaired in Mathpuraina.
This camp was significant beyond routine health check-ups, as it brought medical services to children for whom communicating their health issues in a conventional manner is a challenge in itself. Mindful of the unique needs of hearing and visually impaired children, the MMU health team conducted the examinations with sensitivity and a strong sense of responsibility.
The camp was organized under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai and the guidance of Deputy Chief Minister (Urban Administration and Development) Shri Arun Sao. It was held under the instructions of Raipur Municipal Corporation Mayor Smt. Meenal Choubey, Health Department Chairperson Smt. Gayatri Chandrakar, and Commissioner Shri Sambit Mishra; under the guidance of Additional Commissioner (Health) Shri Vinod Pandey and Deputy Commissioner (Health) Shri Jasdev Singh Babra; and in the presence of Area Project Manager Smt. Kajal Sharma. Dr. Nivedita Chandra conducted the health examinations, assisted by Pharmacist Nandini Sahu, Lab Technician Anju Sahu, and Nurse Neha Nirmalkar.
- A total of 90 children were registered for OPD services during the camp, and the health team provided necessary medical consultations and treatment.
In one instance, a child exhibited symptoms of typhoid and malaria; exercising special caution, the medical team referred the child for further necessary testing and treatment.
