Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai called upon the people of the state to light a ‘Lamp of Blessings’ in their homes this evening on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, wishing him a healthy and long life. He stated that Prime Minister Modi has dedicated his life to public service, nation-building, and the welfare of the poor. The ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ (Service Pledge Campaign), which begins on his birthday, inspires us all to carry this spirit of service to every citizen and play our part in nation-building. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai was addressing the Lord Vishwakarma Puja and Farmers-Laborers Felicitation Ceremony held at the Budhwari Bazar ground in Birgaon today.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai remarked that today is special in many respects. On one hand, it marks the birth anniversary of Lord Vishwakarma—the deity of creation, construction, and craftsmanship—and on the other, it is the birthday of the country’s Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. Lord Vishwakarma inspires us to build society through our skills, labor, and creativity, while Prime Minister Modi’s life exemplifies service, dedication, and a resolve for nation-building.
The Chief Minister noted that the hard work of farmers fills our food granaries, while the labor of workers shapes the infrastructure of development. From fields to factories and construction sites to industries, our farmers, laborers, artisans, and craftspeople are true partners in Chhattisgarh’s progress. The resolve to build a developed Chhattisgarh will be realized through the capability, skill, and hard work of these very ‘Shramveers’ (champions of labor). The state government is continuously working to bring prosperity, security, and happiness to their families while honoring their labor.
Chief Minister Sai mentioned that prior to the event, he offered prayers to Goddess Parmeshwari, Lord Vishwakarma, and Lord Ganesh, seeking the state’s well-being, prosperity, happiness, and continuous progress. Extending his greetings on Vishwakarma Jayanti, he noted that Lord Vishwakarma is the symbol of creation, skill, and construction. His message inspires us to respect labor and contribute to nation-building through our skills.
- Prime Minister Modi has made service and public welfare the foundation of governance
Chief Minister Sai stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, significant initiatives have been undertaken in recent years to bring positive changes to the lives of the poor, farmers, laborers, youth, and women. Initiatives such as providing permanent housing for poor families, household toilets, electricity, tap water connections, and financial inclusion through Jan-Dhan accounts have eased the lives of crores of people.
He noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has placed before the nation the resolve to transform India into a developed nation by 2047. This resolve for a ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India) is not limited to economic progress alone; its objective is to extend the benefits of development and opportunities to every section of society and to the last person in the country. In alignment with this resolve, the Chhattisgarh government has also prepared a vision to build a developed Chhattisgarh by 2047. Our goal is to create a prosperous, self-reliant, and modern Chhattisgarh where everyone—whether in villages or cities, farmers or laborers, youth or women—has equal opportunities to progress.
Chief Minister Sai mentioned that the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ (Campaign for the Resolve of Service) has commenced nationwide, coinciding with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday. This campaign is an opportunity to transform ‘service’ from a mere program into a broad commitment involving public participation. Urging the people of the state to actively participate in this campaign, he called upon every family to light an ‘Aashirwad ka Deep’ (Lamp of Blessings) in their homes this evening and pray for the Prime Minister’s good health and long life. Ensuring safety in the lives of workers and prosperity for their families is our goal.
Chief Minister Shri Sai stated that workers are not merely participants in construction activities but are a vital foundation of the state’s progress. Therefore, prioritizing worker welfare, the state government is implementing schemes designed to provide support to workers and their families at various stages of life.
He noted that financial assistance has been arranged for registered workers through various schemes covering everything from childbirth to their children’s education, livelihood, and other needs. The government strives to ensure that children from worker families do not have to compromise on their talents and dreams due to a lack of resources.
The Chief Minister mentioned that the ‘Atal Utkrisht Shiksha Yojana’ is being implemented to provide quality education to talented children from worker families. Under this scheme, 200 children are being given the opportunity to study in private residential schools. He…He urged workers to mandatorily register themselves to avail the full benefits of government schemes.
The Chief Minister stated that the government is continuously taking steps to make women from laboring families economically self-reliant. By providing e-rickshaws to women, avenues for self-employment and regular income are being created. Our endeavor is to ensure that laboring families do not merely remain recipients of aid but become economically empowered through opportunities and resources.
- Chhattisgarh to Prosper through Farmers’ Prosperity
Chief Minister Shri Sai remarked that farmers hold a significant place in Chhattisgarh’s economy and social life. A farmer’s prosperity leads to the prosperity of the village, and the village’s prosperity strengthens the entire state. With this vision, the state government is continuously working to increase farmers’ income and make agriculture more profitable.
He noted that paddy is being procured from farmers in the state at a rate of ₹3,100 per quintal, with a limit of 21 quintals per acre. Farmers have also been provided with the outstanding paddy bonus for two years. Large-scale irrigation projects have been approved to expand irrigation facilities for farming. The government aims to ensure adequate water reaches the fields, agricultural productivity rises, and farmers’ incomes see continuous growth.
The Chief Minister stated that honoring the hard work of farmers and laborers is the true form of reverence for Lord Vishwakarma. Building a developed Chhattisgarh is possible only when the state’s ‘Annadata’ (food provider) is happy and the families of ‘Shramveers’ (hardworking laborers) are secure and prosperous.
- New Momentum for the Economic Self-Reliance of Mothers and Sisters
Chief Minister Shri Sai stated that economically empowering the state’s mothers and sisters is a key priority for the state government. Through the ‘Mahtari Vandan Yojana,’ eligible women are receiving regular financial assistance directly into their bank accounts. This has provided women with financial support for their various needs—large and small—and strengthened their participation in family decision-making.
He added that the government’s objective is not merely to provide financial aid to women but to make them self-reliant in the long run by connecting them with opportunities for education, skill development, self-employment, and livelihoods. Women’s economic activities are being continuously expanded through various channels, including self-help groups.

Chief Minister Shri Sai stated that the state government is working rapidly to expand modern and improved civic amenities in both rural and urban areas. Continuous efforts are underway to develop infrastructure—such as roads, drinking water supply, sanitation, and street lighting—in urban areas through various schemes, including ‘Nagarotthan’.
He noted that development works worth approximately ₹175 crore have been carried out in the Birgaon Municipal Corporation area over the past two and a half years. These initiatives are strengthening the region’s infrastructure and expanding civic amenities. He added that development projects tailored to Birgaon’s needs will continue to be advanced in the future.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the government’s development vision is not limited to major cities alone; villages, towns, smaller cities, and remote tribal regions are equally high on the priority list. Providing good roads, electricity, drinking water, education, healthcare, and other basic amenities to every region of the state is fundamental to building a developed Chhattisgarh.
- New avenues for development and employment opening up alongside peace in Bastar
Chief Minister Shri Sai stated that special efforts are being made to integrate remote regions of the state, including Bastar, into the mainstream of development. Government schemes and basic amenities are being extended to remote villages through initiatives like ‘Niyad Nella Nar’.
He remarked that Bastar holds immense potential due to its natural beauty, rich tribal culture, and forest produce. The government is working to harness this potential by boosting tourism and forest-produce-based economies, thereby creating employment for local youth and increasing the income of tribal families. Alongside infrastructure expansion in remote areas, new opportunities in education, healthcare, communication, and employment are also being developed. At the ceremony, Chief Minister Mr. Sai honored 76 talented individuals with certificates of appreciation for their remarkable contributions across various fields, including social work, culture, arts, literature, sports, and science. While congratulating and extending his best wishes to the honorees, he remarked that individuals who excel in their respective fields serve as a source of inspiration for the entire society.
The Chief Minister stated that honoring talent and contributions is not merely about recognizing the individual; it also fosters a culture of positive action, creativity, and excellence within society. He urged the honorees to continue contributing to the progress of society and the state with the same zeal.
Guru Khushwant Saheb, the Minister for Skill Development, Technical Education, Employment, and Scheduled Caste Development, also addressed the gathering.
