On the occasion of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s 76th birthday, Mahadev Ghat in the capital, Raipur, was illuminated today by the glow of 1.25 lakh lamps. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai attended the grand Deepotsav and Maha-Aarti event titled ‘Aashirwad ka Diya’ (Lamp of Blessing), organized on the sacred banks of the Kharun River, and joined the citizens in praying for the Prime Minister’s good health and long life. The entire Mahadev Ghat complex was bathed in light by the simultaneous lighting of 1.25 lakh lamps. Amidst this unique confluence of reverence, faith, and public participation, a grand Maha-Aarti of ‘Kharun Maiya’ was performed.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Shri Sai stated that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has dedicated his life to the nation and public service. Under his leadership, India has achieved numerous unprecedented and historic milestones in the realms of development, public welfare, and national pride.

Prime Minister Shri Modi is tirelessly devoted to serving the 140 crore citizens of the country, and under his leadership, India is rapidly advancing towards new heights of development. Chief Minister Shri Sai stated that the 1.25 lakh earthen lamps lit today on the sacred banks of the Kharun River are an expression of the affection, warmth, and good wishes the people of Chhattisgarh hold for Prime Minister Shri Modi. Extending heartfelt birthday greetings and best wishes to the Prime Minister on behalf of the state’s residents, he prayed for his healthy, long, and illustrious life.

During this grand Deepotsav (festival of lights), Sadhvi Pragya Bharti and Acharyas performed the Maha-Aarti of the Kharun River with traditional rituals. Chief Minister Shri Sai also participated in the Maha-Aarti. On this occasion, the Chief Minister released a song dedicated to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, composed and sung by Sadhvi Pragya Bharti.

  • The country has witnessed historic transformations under Prime Minister Shri Modi’s leadership

Chief Minister Shri Sai remarked that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the country has witnessed numerous historic decisions and transformations that had been awaited for a long time. From the abrogation of Article 370 provisions in Jammu and Kashmir to the consecration of Lord Shri Ram Lalla in the magnificent temple at Ayodhya, the nation has experienced a renewed sense of self-confidence and capability.

He stated that major decisions with far-reaching consequences for the national interest have been taken under Prime Minister Shri Modi’s leadership. His firm resolve, clear vision, and spirit of service to the nation have accelerated the pace of development and public welfare across the country. Today, India is playing its role on the global stage with greater confidence and strength.

Chief Minister Shri Sai noted that for Prime Minister Shri Modi, the poor and the person standing at the very last rung of society have always been the focal point of governance. In line with this sentiment, extensive work has been undertaken to provide poor families with permanent housing, household toilets, Jan-Dhan accounts, LPG connections, food security, and other basic amenities.

He added that Prime Minister Shri Modi works tirelessly with the motto of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas‘ (Together with all, Development for all), regarding every citizen as a member of his own family. His government has prioritized even the smallest needs of the poor and the amenities that improve their lives. Recalling his experience of working with Prime Minister Shri Modi, Chief Minister Shri Sai stated that when Shri Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister of the country in 2014, he too had the opportunity to serve as a Union Minister of State in his government. During that period, he had the chance to closely observe and understand the Prime Minister’s work style, discipline, diligence, and dedication to public service.

He remarked that Prime Minister Shri Modi’s entire life is an inspiring journey of dedication to the nation and public service. From serving the state as the Chief Minister of Gujarat to leading the country as Prime Minister, his 25 years in public life have been dedicated to service and good governance. It is the country’s good fortune to have such leadership, which has enhanced India’s prestige and honor on the global stage.

  • Prime Minister Shri Modi shares a deep, personal bond with Chhattisgarh

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai stated that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi shares a deep, personal bond with the people of Chhattisgarh. The state has received continuous support and guidance from the Central Government for its development. Chhattisgarh—and specifically the development of its tribal and remote regions—holds a significant place in Prime Minister Shri Modi’s vision for development.

He noted that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Modi and Union Home Minister Shri Ami…Thanks to the strong willpower of Shah and the indomitable courage of our security forces, Chhattisgarh has achieved decisive success against Maoist violence. New avenues for peace and development have opened up today in Bastar, a region that long endured the scourge of violence and backwardness. Roads, electricity, mobile connectivity, education, healthcare, and other basic amenities are reaching remote areas, and new possibilities for development are taking shape.

The Chief Minister stated that this transformation in the lives of the people of Bastar is lending new strength to the resolve of building a developed Chhattisgarh. The state government aims to leverage Bastar’s natural wealth, tourism, culture, and forest-produce-based economy to foster prosperity and employment for the local people within an atmosphere of peace.

  • ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ (Campaign for the Resolve to Serve) marking 25 years of public service

Chief Minister Shri Sai announced that the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ has commenced nationwide today, running from September 17 to October 17, to mark the completion of 25 years of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s public service. This campaign offers an opportunity to advance Prime Minister Modi’s commitment to service, good governance, the welfare of the poor, and nation-building through public participation.

He stated that in Chhattisgarh, too, the campaign would drive forward various initiatives related to cleanliness, health, nutrition, environmental conservation, assistance to the needy, and public welfare with the active participation of the people. He called upon the citizens of the state to actively participate in this campaign and carry the spirit of service to their villages, cities, neighborhoods, and society at large.

  • 1.25 lakh earthen lamps convey collective best wishes

Chief Minister Shri Sai noted that today, by lighting 1.25 lakh earthen lamps at Mahadev Ghat, the people of the state have expressed their heartfelt wishes for Prime Minister Modi’s good health and long life. He added that best wishes are being conveyed to the Prime Minister across various locations in the capital, Raipur, through the lighting of approximately 32 lakh lamps.

Chief Minister Shri Sai remarked that in Indian culture, the earthen lamp symbolizes hope, faith, positivity, and light. Every ‘Lamp of Blessing’ (Aashirwad ka Diya) lit today symbolizes not only the wish for Prime Minister Shri Modi’s good health and long life but also a pledge towards service and nation-building.

Congratulating the organizers, office-bearers of the Sanatan Dhwaj Vahini, volunteers, and the large number of citizens present for the grand event of the massive Deepotsav (festival of lamps) and Maha-Aarti, he remarked that such immense public participation had made the occasion truly special.
