Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai has taken a significant decision in the interest of the state’s sugarcane farmers, deciding to allow sugar factories to purchase sugarcane at a rate of Rs 425 per quintal. The Chief Minister stated that the prosperity of the farmers is the foundation of a prosperous Chhattisgarh. The state government is working with full commitment to ensure that farmers receive better returns for their hard work, farming becomes profitable, and farmer families continue to become economically empowered.

A delegation from the Bharatiya Kisan Sangh, Chhattisgarh, paid a courtesy call on Chief Minister Shri Sai today. The delegation included Organization Minister Shri Manish Sharma, General Secretary Shri Naveen Shesh, and other officials and members. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao and Shri Vijay Sharma were also present on the occasion.

During the meeting, Chief Minister Shri Sai discussed in detail with the delegation various issues concerning the state’s farmers. The interests of sugarcane-producing farmers also figured prominently during the discussion. Keeping the farmers’ sentiments and interests in mind, the Chief Minister took immediate action on this issue and decided to purchase sugarcane for sugar factories at the rate of Rs. 425 per quintal. Purchases made in the 2025-26 crushing season will also be paid at the increased rate.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the central and state governments are continuously working towards increasing farmers’ income, reducing agricultural costs, and making farming more profitable. The Chhattisgarh government is also moving forward by keeping farmers’ interests at the center of its policies and decisions. The government is sensitive to farmers’ needs and problems, and decisions related to farmers’ interests are being made on priority.

The Chief Minister said that farmers play a vital role in the state’s economy and rural prosperity. Strong agriculture will strengthen villages, and rural prosperity will pave the way for Chhattisgarh’s prosperity. The state government is striving to ensure that farmers receive fair and better prices for their produce and that agriculture becomes a powerful means of earning a respectable and profitable livelihood.

The Bharatiya Kisan Sangh delegation expressed its gratitude to Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai for this decision, which was taken in the interest of sugarcane farmers.
