Under the Chhattisgarh State Rural Livelihood Mission ‘Bihan’, the District Panchayat Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai will organize a three-day district-level Saras Mela from November 1 to 3, 2026, at the Raja Fateh Singh Sports Ground, Khairagarh. The fair will showcase and sell various products manufactured by self-help groups, with Chhattisgarhi traditional cuisine a special attraction. The main objective of the event is to provide a market for products manufactured by rural women, promote their economic empowerment, and expand self-employment and livelihood opportunities.
- Exhibition of products of self-help groups
The Saras Mela will showcase and sell a variety of products made by women self-help groups, including clothing, bags, purses, papads, pickles, spices, betel leaf dishes, pure gram flour, pulses, earthen lamps, bamboo crafts, dairy products, organic vegetables, fruits, and organic rice. This will provide a platform for rural women to market their products directly to customers and gain business opportunities locally.
- You will also get the taste of fast food along with Chhattisgarhi cuisine
Special stalls showcasing traditional Chhattisgarhi cuisine will be set up at the fair. Visitors can enjoy Chhattisgarhi dishes, along with chaat, gup chup, bhel, tea and coffee, fast food, and South Indian dishes. Chhattisgarh’s rich food culture will be promoted through local cuisine and traditional flavors.
- The fair will run daily from 11 am to 10 pm.
The three-day Saras Mela will be held from November 1st to November 3rd, every day from 11 am to 10 pm. The event will provide an opportunity for citizens to purchase rural products and enjoy various traditional delicacies at one place.
The District Panchayat Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai and the Chhattisgarh State Rural Livelihood Mission ‘Bihan’ have appealed to the citizens of the district to attend the fair in large numbers, purchase products manufactured by women from self-help groups, and participate in the economic empowerment of rural women.
