A review meeting of last year’s income-expenditure and the action plan for the new financial year was held today in the meeting hall of the Tribal Research and Training Institute located in Nava Raipur under the chairmanship of Shri Sonmani Bora, Principal Secretary of the Tribal Development Department.
In the meeting, the officials informed that in the financial year 2025-26, 68 percent of the total budget has been spent by the department. Principal Secretary Mr. Bora said that the beneficiaries should get the full benefit of the budget allocated by the government for the successful implementation of various schemes. For this, an action plan should be made from the beginning of the year and implemented. For this, all the officers in charge should complete the work within the stipulated time limit with mutual coordination. Mr. Bora has given the target of increasing the expenditure to 80 percent in the upcoming financial year 2026-27.
Principal Secretary Mr. Bora said that under the able leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Vishnudev Sai and the guidance of Minister Mr. Ramvichar Netam, the department is progressing ahead. In view of the successful implementation of departmental schemes, in the financial year 2025-26, Rs. 732 crore has been received from the Government of India for Dharti Aaba Tribal Village Excellence Campaign, Rs. 915 crore for 21 Eklavya Model Residential Schools and Rs. 170 crore under Article 275 (1). This is a huge achievement for the department. The successful implementation of all these works in the next two years will accelerate the development of Chhattisgarh.

In the meeting, apart from the Tribal Development Department, the income and expenditure of the Tribal Research and Training Institute, Scheduled Caste Development Department, Backward Class and Minority Development and Chhattisgarh State Self-Employed Cooperative Finance and Development Corporation under the financial year 2025-26 was also reviewed. Joint Secretary Shri B.K. Rajput, Shri Anupam Trivedi, Finance Controller Shri Lazarus Minj, Additional Director Shri Sanjay Gaur, Shri R.S. Bhoi, Deputy Commissioner Smt. Gayatri Netam, Shri Pragyan Seth, Shri L.R. Kurren, Shri Vishwanath Reddy, Smt. Menaka Chandrakar, Executive Engineer Shri Trideep Chakraborty and other departmental officers were present in the meeting.
Principal Secretary Mr. Bora also reviewed the Aadhaar face attendance system and the e-office system at the meeting. He praised the officers and employees with the highest attendance in the department using the Aadhaar-based attendance system. He also stated that disciplinary action will be taken against those who fail to arrive on time.
Principal Secretary Mr. Bora also reviewed e-office in the meeting, stating that the implementation of the e-office system has brought transparency and clarity to the administration. It is also proving extremely useful in strengthening the system. He added that now that files are available in the e-office, work can be conducted at a much faster pace. Officers should submit files in accordance with all regulations and with clear opinions when forwarding them, so that a final decision can be made.
In the meeting, he also conducted a detailed review of the unaudited new expenditure proposals for the financial years 2025-26 and 2026-27, as well as the current status of various development works. He called for standardization of materials purchased by the department. He also reviewed the district-wise status of daily wage employees, allocations, and expenditures.
In the meeting, the Principal Secretary inquired about the progress of building construction projects, projects being undertaken under the Prime Minister’s Janman Yojana and the Dharti Aaba Yojana. He also directed the development of future action plans for the income and expenditure from the Chhattisgarh Tribal Museum and the Martyr Veer Narayan Singh Museum.
