- ‘Mahatari Vandan Vriksharopan Abhiyan’ will be organised for the first time in the state on July 30.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai, an innovative initiative is being taken in Chhattisgarh to link environmental protection with public participation. Inspired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign, the “Mahatari Vandan Vropaoshan Abhiyan” will be organized for the first time in the state on July 30th, along with a massive tree planting program. The objective of this unique campaign is to transform tree planting into a mass movement by connecting women with the great campaign of environmental protection.
In accordance with the wishes of Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai, the Balod district administration has begun extensive preparations for this campaign. All relevant departments, including Forest, Women and Child Development, Panchayat, and Rural Development, are working in coordination to make the campaign a success. Collector Smt. Divya Umesh Mishra has instructed officials to ensure the active participation of the approximately 245,000 women benefiting from the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, as well as other interested women and all sections of society.
To ensure the successful implementation of the campaign, free saplings are being distributed through Anganwadi centers to women beneficiaries of the Mahatari Vandan Yojana and other interested women. With the support of village panchayats, Anganwadi workers are going door-to-door to provide saplings so that every woman can plant a sapling at her home, Anganwadi, or a suitable location on July 30th. Women have also enthusiastically begun preparations for this massive campaign.
Under the campaign, the necessary saplings are being provided free of charge for plantation. After planting, beneficiaries can upload their photo with the sapling on the designated selfie link and receive a digital certificate for their contribution to environmental protection.
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai, the state government is continuously encouraging public participation-based campaigns to realize the resolve of a green Chhattisgarh. The “Mahatari Vandan Vriksharopan Abhiyan” will become a wonderful confluence of women’s power, nature, and social responsibility, setting a new example in environmental protection.
