Collector Kuldeep Sharma reviewed various public welfare schemes of the state and central governments in the weekly time-limit meeting on Tuesday. He emphasized the need to construct soak pits and rainwater harvesting structures in all government buildings to recharge groundwater, and to complete water conservation work through public participation.
The Collector directed the officials of the Water Resources Department to construct such structures around the canals which would help in recharging the ground water by stopping the water. He has also given instructions to construct water conservation structures in the lowest areas of the fields. Mr. Sharma also directed for rain water harvesting and construction of soak pits in Anganwadi, government and private schools. He has also appealed to the common citizens for cooperation in this work by offering maximum publicity for public awareness in this regard. He also gave instructions for mandatory photo and geo tagging of water harvesting structures after their quality construction.
In the meeting, he also directed the timely resolution of various cases under the Public Service Guarantee Act and their immediate entry on the portal. Failure to do so will result in action against the concerned officers and employees as per the Public Service Guarantee Act. He directed Patwaris to be present compulsorily during the Revenue Fortnight and to resolve cases on the spot. Mr. Sharma also directed the completion of the census work with sensitivity and diligence. He stated that the census is a top priority and negligence in this work will not be tolerated. Taking serious note of cases of encroachment on government land, he directed all subdivisional officers to take strict action under the Land Revenue Code. Landless citizens are also to be benefited under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. He directed all subdivisional officers to identify inhabited land at the Panchayat level and provide benefits to the landless.
