Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has empowered Madhya Pradesh and the country by accomplishing challenging tasks. He has made the impossible possible. When the topic of 33 percent women’s reservation in the national legislative assemblies and the Lok Sabha comes up, it will be like celebrating Holi and Diwali together. We have many excellent examples of the sensitive innovations that can be achieved when women take the reins of governance. Madhya Pradesh is the land of Rani Durgavati. The state government celebrated the 300th birth anniversary of Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai Holkar. Under his rule, Baba Vishwanath’s shrine was established in Kashi, based on cultural nationalism. Arrangements were made for food distribution and accommodation for pilgrims at all pilgrimage sites. A new era of women’s political empowerment is beginning under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing the “Nari Shakti Vandan Program – Enlightened People’s Conference.” The program began with the singing of Vande Mataram in the Hans Dhwani auditorium of Ravindra Bhavan. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav inaugurated the program organized under the Nari Shakti Vandan fortnight by lighting a lamp. A large number of representatives of women’s organizations, voluntary organizations, urban bodies and Panchayati Raj institutions, women journalists and students participated in the program.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav praised the topper girl students of the Higher Secondary and High School Examination of the Board of Secondary Education. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav greeted the girl students who presented Saraswati Vandana by presenting them with Angavastram, coconut and plant. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav visited the exhibition organized on women empowerment. Public Health Engineering Minister Smt. Sampatiya Uikey, Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Nirmala Bhuria, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Backward Classes and Minority Welfare Smt. Krishna Gaur, Minister of State for Civil Development and Housing Smt. Pratima Bagri, Minister of State for Panchayat and Rural Development Smt. Radha Singh, educationist Ms. Shobha Paithankar, MLA and former minister Smt. Archana Chitnis and MP Smt. Lata Wankhede were specially present in the program. Girls from Jawahar Bal Bhavan sang Saraswati Vandana in the program.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Madhya Pradesh is an excellent example of the veneration of women power. Women are being given 50 percent reservation in the state’s urban bodies. Women are in charge of more than half of the state’s local bodies. Six of our women are MPs in the Lok Sabha and 27 are MLAs in the Assembly. Five women ministers in the state are effectively handling their portfolios. Women in Madhya Pradesh have set numerous examples of indomitable courage and leadership. Rajmata Vijaya Raje Scindia, from the Gwalior region, left the then government and formed the state’s first coalition government. An epitome of humility, Rajmata never held any office and continued to work for the people. Indore’s sister, Mrs. Sumitra Mahajan, was the former Speaker of the Lok Sabha. Former External Affairs Minister, the late Sushma Swaraj, also represented the state in the Lok Sabha. Today, Mrs. Draupadi Murmu holds the position of President of the country.
- Women’s welfare and women-led development are our priority
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that under Prime Minister Shri Modi’s leadership, the country is becoming empowered in all areas. Women’s welfare and women-led development are his priorities. In this regard, remarkable progress has been made to free our sisters from triple talaq. Significant work is being done towards the economic, social, and political empowerment of women in the country. To raise public awareness, it is essential to take the Nari Shakti Vandan Abhiyan to every home. This will make our democracy more inclusive, strong, and sensitive.

Women and Child Development Minister Ms. Nirmala Bhuria said that the Nari Shakti Vandan Act, which is going to be implemented under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Modi, will provide women in the country with more opportunities for strong leadership. Prime Minister Shri Modi has taken the initiative to provide reservation for women to strengthen democracy. This will ensure 33 percent participation of women in the national legislative assemblies and the Lok Sabha. This will increase the participation of women in the country’s policy decisions. The state government is also leaving no stone unturned in women’s empowerment, which is benefiting the women of the state. For the first time, a cabinet meeting dedicated to Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai Holkar was held in Maheshwar, and under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, the state government dedicated an entire year to women’s welfare. Now the time has come for representatives from all sections and parties of the country to cooperate in implementing the Nari Shakti Vandan Act. Every step we take will be to move the country and the state forward.

Addressing the Nari Shakti Sammelan, Minister of State, Mrs. Krishna Gaur, described the Nari Shakti Vandan Act as a historic and revolutionary step towards women’s empowerment. She said that through the 106th Constitutional Amendment introduced by Prime Minister Shri Modi, millions of women in the country have received the respect and constitutional power they had long awaited from 1996 to 2010. Referring to the current limited representation of women at 14% in the Lok Sabha and 11% in the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly, Mrs. Gaur emphasized that this 33% reservation law will bridge this gap and place women in leadership and decisive decision-making roles. She clarified that this is not just a bill, but a journey of thought to transform women’s power from “beneficiaries” to “charioteers of nation-building,” where women are making their mark in every field from space to security. Praising the self-reliant and self-respecting lives of the state’s daughters under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, she expressed confidence that only when women are empowered and in decisive roles will the nation be fully empowered.

At the Matrishakti Vandan program, educationist Ms. Shobha Paithankar explained the glorious role of women, stating that in Indian culture, women are not only considered a “spark” of struggle, but also a “flower” that spreads affection and fragrance. Citing the Bhagavad Gita, she described the seven divine qualities of women—Shri, Vani, Smriti, Medha, Dhriti, and Kshama—as their inherent strengths, which keep the family connected with values. In her address, she mentioned Savitribai Phule’s struggle for education, Jijabai’s values, the bravery of Rani Lakshmibai and Durgavati, and the exemplary administration of Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai Holkar. She explained that from history to the present, women have paved the way for society in every difficult situation. She explained that thanks to the Central Government’s Nari Shakti Vandan Act and various welfare schemes of the State Government, women are today setting new records in every field, including the military, science, sports, and administration. Ms. Paithankar called upon women to no longer be mere participants but to take the leadership role and with their creativity and positive thinking, are making decisive contributions in nation building.
