Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU), Raipur, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with National Chi Nan University (NCNU), Taiwan. The partnership aims to further strengthen academic and research collaboration between the two institutions.
The MoU was signed on May 6, 2026, at the NCNU campus in Taiwan.
Speaking on the occasion, HNLU Vice Chancellor Prof. Vivekanandan said that this MoU will promote collaboration in interdisciplinary areas between the two institutions and further strengthen academic and bilateral relations between India and Taiwan.
National Chi Nan University President Dr. Dong-Hsing Wu, an electrical engineer by training, expressed his delight at the partnership with one of India’s national law universities. He expressed hope that this collaboration will open new possibilities in the fields of law and technology.
Under this MoU, both the institutions will:
- Promote joint research and academic exchange;
- organize conferences, seminars and workshops;
- run faculty and student mobility programs;
- develop international academic partnerships;
- and promote opportunities for interdisciplinary and comparative research.
This partnership is considered another important step towards expanding HNL University’s global academic network and developing meaningful international collaborations.
About HNLU

Established in 2003, HNLU is located on a 65-acre eco-friendly campus in Atal Nagar, Naya Raipur, Chhattisgarh. The university is recognized by the Bar Council of India and the University Grants Commission.
The motto of the university is “Dharma Samsthanapanaartham”, which means – “Establishment of the supremacy of law based on eternal values.”
The following courses are offered at HNLU:
- BA LL.B. (Hons.) — Five-year integrated program, admission to which is through CLAT-UG;
- LL.M. — one-year postgraduate programme, admission to which is through CLAT-PG;
- and PhD programs in Law and Interdisciplinary Studies.
The university campus is inspired by the architecture of the old Indian Parliament building. It features air-conditioned academic blocks, a moot court hall modeled after the proceedings of the Supreme Court, a central library equipped with leading legal databases such as Manupatra and SCC Online, as well as hostels, a gym, and sports facilities.
HNLU also has a consistently strong placement record, with students consistently placed in leading law firms, corporate companies, consultancy institutions, and litigation chambers across the country.
About NCNU Taiwan
National Chi Nan University is a major public university in Taiwan, offering 24 undergraduate, 34 master’s, and 13 doctoral programs. Approximately 6,000 to 6,500 students study at the university each year.
The university has eight specialized research centers and promotes interdisciplinary education, combining humanities, law, technology, tourism and agricultural development.
