 Good governance festival was organised in Rahud of Balod.

  • Beneficiaries benefited from various public welfare schemes of the government, 1428 applications were resolved on the spot.

Under Good Governance Festival 2026, a camp was organized on Thursday in the village of Rahud in the Gunderdehi development block of Balod district. Villagers from the Gram Panchayat Rahud and 18 surrounding Gram Panchayats within the Rahud cluster benefited from various government welfare schemes. 
        Gunderdehi MLA Kunwar Singh Nishad, District Panchayat President Tarani Pushpendra Chandrakar, former MLA Virendra Sahu, District President Purushottam Chandrakar, District Vice President Nitesh Monty Yadav, District Panchayat Member Kanti Soneshwar, and other public representatives participated. Beneficiaries received soil health cards under the Agriculture Department, nets and ice boxes under the Fisheries Promotion Scheme. Hearing aids and canes were also distributed under the Social Welfare Department, and rights documents under the Swamitva Yojana.
        Housing completion certificates and KCC cards were distributed under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. In addition, a medical board was set up at the camp to issue disability certificates to persons with disabilities, as per the state government’s directives. During this time, the specialist doctors on the medical board issued disability certificates to the differently-abled individuals who had come to the camp for their disability certificates. Guests at the camp celebrated the Annaprashan ceremony by feeding delicious kheer to the little children. Additionally, the baby shower ceremony was completed by presenting nutrition kits to pregnant mothers. A total of 1,838 applications from various departments were received at the camp held in village Rahud today, of which 1,428 were resolved on the spot. 
        Addressing the camp, MLA Kunwar Singh Nishad urged officials from various departments to ensure the proper resolution of applications received from the public during Good Governance Festival, making the event a meaningful event. He informed the camp attendees about the ill effects of child marriage and administered an oath to actively participate in its prevention.
       Balod District Panchayat President Tarani Pushpendra Chandrakar informed the public about the objectives of Good Governance Festival. He stated that the central and state governments are implementing numerous public welfare schemes for the welfare of all sections of society. During Good Governance Day, government officials are reaching out to the public to assess their genuine concerns. 
       Other public representatives at the camp also urged officials of all departments to ensure the appropriate resolution of public applications with utmost sensitivity, in keeping with the objectives of Good Governance Day. On this occasion, various departments presented information about the total number of applications and their resolution status, as well as the government’s public welfare schemes. Rural women also performed a street play at the camp today to educate the public about the importance of water under the Neer Chetna Abhiyan.
