Health camp organised at CHC Tumgaon on completion of 10 years of Prime Minister Safe Motherhood Campaign

To mark the 10th anniversary of the Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan, a camp was organized at the Community Health Center, Tumgaon, on Tuesday for the screening and treatment of high-risk pregnant women. A “Gosiya Sammelan” was held for pregnant women and their accompanying family members and husbands.
The primary objective of the conference was to raise awareness about the complications of high-risk pregnancies and reduce maternal mortality. The Health Department has established 25 criteria for identifying high-risk pregnant women. Special campaigns are conducted on the 9th and 24th of each month for health management and regular monitoring of women falling within these criteria. The public was provided with detailed information about these topics and raised awareness.
A total of 106 pregnant women underwent health checkups at the camp, providing necessary treatment and counseling. Free sonography examinations were also conducted for the women, ensuring timely identification and management of potential pregnancy-related risks. The medical and health officers and staff of the Community Health Center, Tumgaon, played a key role in the program. Dr. Nikhil Chandrakar, Dr. Jyoti Sahu, Block Program Manager Mr. Surendra Chandrakar, and the entire health department team were present. The health department appealed to pregnant women and their families to undergo regular health checkups and avail themselves of health services for safe motherhood.
