On the occasion of Independence Day, Governor Shri Ramen Deka presented smart sticks to blind students of Prerana Gurukulam Vidyapeetham, run by the National Association for the Blind, Raipur, at Lok Bhavan. These smart sticks will assist the students in safe and independent transportation.
Present on the occasion were the State’s First Lady, Mrs. Rani Deka Kakoti, and the Governor’s Secretary, Dr. C.R. Prasanna.
Extending Independence Day greetings to the students, the Governor stated that it is society’s collective responsibility to provide equal opportunities and self-reliance to persons with disabilities. Modern technology can make the lives of blind students more accessible and secure. He encouraged the students to pursue education and achieve their goals with confidence.
