A street play was organized at the Government Naveen Girls College, Surajpur, as part of the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, aimed at spreading the spirit of service, awareness, and public participation. Through impressive acting and simple dialogue, the students conveyed the message of constitutional rights, fundamental duties, social participation, and awareness of the government’s public welfare schemes.
Through a street play, the students explained that the Indian Constitution grants every citizen the right to equality, liberty, and justice. It also inspires citizens to responsibly fulfill their duties towards the nation and society. Presenting the values of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity enshrined in the Constitution’s Preamble in a simple and engaging manner, the students conveyed the message of strengthening social harmony, mutual goodwill, national unity and integrity, and respect for all citizens.
In their presentation, the students highlighted fundamental rights and fundamental duties, motivating them to respect the Constitution, protect public property, conserve the environment, adopt a scientific approach, and promote a spirit of brotherhood in society. They emphasized that the hallmark of responsible citizenship lies in the fulfillment of duties while being aware of rights.

The second major theme of the street play was information about the government’s various public welfare schemes and programs. Through their performances, the students demonstrated that often, due to a lack of information about the schemes, deserving individuals are deprived of the benefits. In such situations, the role of aware citizens and youth becomes crucial. They encouraged the needy and eligible people in their neighborhood to disseminate accurate information about the schemes and encourage them to contact the relevant departments and offices to avail the benefits.
The presentation also highlighted the usefulness of government efforts related to education, health, women empowerment, social security and economic independence. The students gave the message that public awareness and public participation are important links in taking the government schemes to the last person. The youth can play an active role in social change by sharing correct information about the schemes, removing confusion and misinformation, and helping the needy people in the application process and reaching the concerned department. Through the program, the students gave the message of ‘Aware Citizen-Empowered Society’ and made a meaningful effort to connect the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan with public participation.
