Maharishi Sandipani Shraddha Festival will be celebrated in the state on Guru Purnima: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav

  • Before Guru Purnima, launch of all Sandipani Vidyalayas, the Chief Minister
  • directed to publish a short booklet on Maharishi Sandipani’s biography and contribution,
  • review the preparations for organizing Guru Purnima Mahotsav.

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that Gurujan is always venerable and venerable. Guru takes us from ‘gu’ (darkness of ignorance) to ‘ru’ (radiance of knowledge). Guru Purnima is a major celebration of service, worship and blessings of our Gurus. He said that the ideals of the ancient Indian knowledge tradition and Indian Guru-Shishya tradition should be widely propagated while promoting the objectives of the National Education Policy-2020. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that a state-wide ‘Maharshi Sandipani Shriddha Parv’ should be organized on the upcoming Guru Purnima. In this, active participation of school education, tribal work, higher education, technical education, medical education department as well as private educational institutions and sports, drama, painting, music and other arts institutions should be ensured. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing the review meeting of preparations for organizing the upcoming Guru Purnima Mahotsav in Committee Room No-1 of Madhya Pradesh Vidhan Sabha on Monday.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Guru Purnima fortnight is currently going on in the state. As many public schools as are yet to be inaugurated in the state should be inaugurated before Guru Purnima. The Chief Minister said that Maharishi Sandipani Yogeshwar was the guru of Lord Krishna. At that time he introduced patriotism by donating education to all the rich and poor students. At the same time, he contributed effectively in organizing the Gurukul education system in the country. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav directed the officials to publish a booklet focusing on Maharishi Sandipani’s biography and his characteristics and contribution in spreading the Gurukul Shiksha system and distribute it in all schools. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Guru-pujan should be organized in all government and non-government schools, industrial training institutes of the state. Local public representatives should also be invited in this. He said that the life history of Shri Krishna-Sudama should be told on Friendship Day celebrated in schools every year.

  • Make Guru Purnima a public participation festival

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the Guru Purnima ‘Maharshi Sandipani Shraddha Parv’ should be made a celebration of public participation, so that the students and youth would strengthen their respect for their Gurus and faith in Indian cultural values. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav directed to involve government schools and colleges as well as private schools, colleges and universities in this event. He said that Guru Purnima should be given the form of a cultural and educational mass movement, so that the message of Guru-Shishya tradition can reach every section of the society effectively and it can be strongly conveyed to the new generation. The outline of the organization, nature of programs and responsibilities of various departments were discussed in detail in the meeting.

Additional Chief Secretary, General Administration, Culture and Religious Trusts and Dharmaswa Shri Shivshekhar Shukla said that among the programs to be held in educational institutions on Guru Purnima (July 29), garlanding of Maa Saraswati’s image/picture, Saraswati Vandana, welcoming-recognition-honoring of gurus, lectures/examinations, student-teacher interaction, cultural programs and other competitions will be organized. He said that guidelines are being issued for organizing various activities in all the educational institutions of the region, schools, colleges and universities. Literary and cultural programs in all government and non-government schools, colleges and universities should be conducted by the students, such instructions have been given. He said that efforts are being made to actively participate in the society by organizing Guru Purnima and Maharishi Sandipani Shraddha Parva.

In the meeting, Minister of Tribal Affairs, Public Asset Management and Bhopal Gas Tragedy Relief and Rehabilitation Dr. Kunwar Vijay Shah, Minister of Higher Education, AYUSH and Technical Education Shri Inder Singh Parmar, Minister of State for Skill Development and Employment (Independent Charge) Shri Gautam Tetwal, Chief Secretary Shri Anurag Jain, Additional Chief Secretary Health Shri Ashok Varnwal, Additional Chief Secretary Higher Education Shri Anupam Rajan, Secretary School Education Dr. Sanjay Goyal, Cultural Adviser to Chief Minister Shri Ram Tiwari, Director of Culture Shri N.P. Namdev along with other officials were also present.
