Public Relations Commissioner Rajat Bansal and Raipur Municipal Corporation Commissioner Sambit Mishra participated in the Raipur Press Club’s “Hamar Pahuna” program. Both officials interacted with Press Club officials and journalists and discussed in detail the Press Club’s development, the changing challenges of the media, and the role of public relations.
Speaking at the Raipur Press Club’s “Hamar Pahuna” program, Public Relations Commissioner Rajat Bansal said that in this era of rapid expansion of social media and new media, the role of credible, factual, and positive journalism has become even more important. He added that when accurate, authentic, and timely information reaches citizens, the bond of trust between government and society is strengthened. Positive and factual journalism strengthens democracy. Responsible journalism is an effective means of raising public awareness, strengthening good governance, and advancing democratic values.
Speaking on the occasion, senior journalist Prakash Sharma said that the public relations department and journalism complement each other. Public relations brings government plans and policies to society, while journalists present them in a factual and balanced manner. He added that regular communication, transparency, and a relationship of trust between the two strengthen the democratic system.

Senior journalist Brijesh Choubey said that better coordination, prompt information sharing, and a spirit of mutual cooperation between journalists and the public relations department are the need of the hour. He added that healthy dialogue and a reliable information system not only strengthen the credibility of the media but also establish effective communication between the government and the public. Such dialogue programs serve as a means to further strengthen trust and cooperation between the two parties.
Speaking on the occasion, Press Club President Mohan Tiwari spoke about the increasing intensity of news in today’s digital age, along with the spread of a haze of confusion. He stressed on keeping the principles of traditional journalism alive even in new media and spoke about the need for journalists to work with true accountability to cut through the web of confusion with the flame of truth.
