A long-term roadmap will be prepared for the holistic development of equestrian sports in the state: Minister Shri Sarang

A national level seminar is being organized at Madhya Pradesh State Equestrian Academy in Bhopal on 8th August with the aim of taking horse riding sport to new heights and its overall development and promotion. The seminar will be attended by eminent trainers from all over the country, international athletes, experts, representatives of Equestrian Federation of India and government and private training institutes. About the preparations of the seminar, Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Shri Vishwas Kailash Sarang on Thursday TT. A meeting of the senior officers of the Sports and Youth Welfare Department was held at the Major Dhyan Chand Hall located at the Nagar Stadium and a detailed review of the preparations was given and necessary guidelines were given.

In the meeting, Minister Shri Sarang said that a strong and long-term ecosystem has to be developed for equestrian sports in the region. He said that the participation of experienced trainers, international sportsmen, experts, Equestrian Federation of India, private training centers and major government and private institutions of the region is being ensured in this national level seminar. Based on their experiences and suggestions, a comprehensive and long-term roadmap will be prepared for the development of equestrian sports in Madhya Pradesh. Minister Shri Sarang directed the officials to organize the seminar with high quality and effective results, so that knowledge, techniques and experiences can be exchanged between sportspersons, coaches and institutions. He said that suggestions of experts on topics like modern training system, scientific coaching, excellent infrastructure, talent search, skill development of players and preparation for national and international competitions will give new direction to the future sports policy of the state.

  • Top equestrian experts of the country will participate

Representatives of reputed horse riding training institutes of the country will share their experiences in the national seminar. These include Captain Sunil Kumar (GG Equestrian Sports Academy, Delhi), Rakesh Kumar (RVC Centre, Meerut), Captain Palwinder Singh (Retd, RVC Centre, Meerut), M.J.S. Rathore (RVC Centre, Meerut) and Colonel R.S. Ahluwalia (Haryana Equestrian Association) will be prominently involved.

  • Major training institutes of the region will participate

Major government and private equestrian training centers of Madhya Pradesh have also been invited in the seminar. These will include Rewa NCC, Mahu NCC, Ujjain Riding Club, MP Riding Club (Indore), R-9 Stables (Indore), Sky the Horse Academy (Bhopal), DPS Bhopal Equestrian Program, Doon International School (Jabalpur), Indore Public School, Daly College (Indore) and Janumar Riding School.

  • Horse riding game will get a new direction

Minister Shri Sarang said that this national level seminar will prove to be an important initiative in the direction of development of equestrian sports in Madhya Pradesh. He said that based on the suggestions of experts, a solid action plan will be prepared in the direction of strengthening the training system, expansion of modern facilities, increasing the capacity of coaches, providing better opportunities for young players and strengthening the partnership of the region at the national and international levels.

The Secretary of Sports Department Mr. Sanjiv Singh, Director Mr. Anshuman Yadav, senior officials of Sports Department along with trainers of State Equestrian Academy were present in the meeting.
