Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai today launched the Chief Minister’s Electricity Bill Payment Solution Scheme 2026 from the auditorium located at Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Hospital in the capital Raipur. On this occasion, he distributed certificates to the consumers who benefited from the scheme and appealed to more and more people to take advantage of the scheme. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai also transferred a subsidy of Rs 8 crore 79 lakh to 2 thousand 931 beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Suryaghar Free Electricity Scheme.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that electricity has become a basic necessity today, and life without it is unimaginable. Many families are unable to pay their electricity bills on time due to financial reasons, which increases the outstanding amount due to surcharges, making it difficult to pay in full. He said that keeping this problem in mind, the state government has launched the Samadhan Yojana, which will provide significant relief to consumers.

The Chief Minister said that through the Samadhan Yojana, an initiative has been taken to provide relief to the state’s low- and middle-income and agricultural consumers who have been unable to pay their electricity bills for a long time. Under the scheme, a total of ₹757 crore will be provided to 28.42 lakh consumers in the state.
The Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, electricity was provided to approximately 18,000 villages in the country after 2014, thereby illuminating villages that had remained in darkness since independence. The Chief Minister informed that approximately 30,000 megawatts of electricity is being produced in the state from our own resources and the government is committed to ensuring uninterrupted power supply to the people of the state.
The Chief Minister stated that due to financial difficulties during the COVID-19 pandemic, many consumers were unable to pay their electricity bills, resulting in increased outstanding balances. Recognizing this problem, the state government has implemented a resolution plan.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that public interest in the Prime Minister’s Solar Power Scheme is steadily growing in the state, and approximately 36,000 people have already joined. The Chief Minister also said that women’s self-help groups working as solar panel vendors is a positive initiative.
The Chief Minister appealed to the citizens to save electricity and avoid unnecessary use of domestic electricity.
Congratulating the officials of the Energy Department for the Samadhan Yojana, the Chief Minister directed that maximum number of consumers should be connected to the Samadhan Yojana by organizing camps and through extensive publicity.
It is noteworthy that three categories of consumers have been determined under the scheme, which include inactive consumers, active single light connection holders, and active non-government domestic and non-government agricultural consumers as of March 31, 2023. As an incentive for consumers in these categories to pay their electricity bills, a provision has been made for a 100 percent rebate on the surcharge amount and a rebate of up to 75 percent on the principal outstanding amount.

To benefit from the scheme, consumers must register and pay a minimum of 10 percent of the outstanding balance at the time of registration. The remaining amount can be paid in installments, and there will be no surcharge in the following month. This scheme will remain in effect until June 30, 2026.
On this occasion, Raipur North MLA Shri Purandar Mishra, Raipur Municipal Corporation Mayor Smt. Meenal Choubey, District Panchayat President Shri Naveen Agarwal, Energy Department Secretary Dr. Rohit Yadav along with a large number of officers, employees and electricity consumers were present.
